Where are the mentors?

I've been reading the forum for some time now and for a newbie like me the suggestion is often "finding a mentor". I've looked in the Warriors for hire section but all I can find are copywriters, programmers, etc. where can I found a proper mentor to get me on the right track? I am willing to pay for the consultation obviously. Thank you all!

Just a friendly, well-intentioned note, here, to advise you to be very careful indeed regarding any "mentoring" services which might be offered to you by people sending you self-promotional private messages in the forum - as very commonly happens to people who start a thread to ask your specific question, above. (They often develop gradually - over a few messages and sometimes a Skype chat - into pitches for very-high-priced coaching of very poor quality, and/or invitations to join very-high-price-ticket MLM schemes with awful reputations. Many of the longer-term stories I've eventually heard from their recipients are enough to make anyone's hair stand on end).

To put it mildly, it's very much "caveat emptor".

Here, on the other hand, is a website which may possibly help you: Internet Marketing Coach Directory | Home

A better intro would have been...
I am new to this forum. Can you point me to the best threads you've collected?

        Or...
I am just getting started. And I am ready to do anything. Can someone help me create a rough plan? Or point me to stuff to read so I can get started right away? I will take MASSIVE action...

Please note that mentors will not waste time with action fakers. You will have to prove yourself first. And besides, true mentorship is not about money.

          Hey Briano.

here's the best advice that I could give you.

First you need to identify what area you are passionate about and interested in doing.

Because not every coach is going to be a good fit for what you want to do.
If you're interested in kindle.. then you need to seek out someone who specializes in kindle.

1.) What are you interested in?

Youtube, product creation, kindle, CPA, copywriting, software / plugin development, facebook, etc?

          Figure that out FIRST.

Then, once you've got that figured out, next you need to figure out what your goal is.

2.) What are you looking to do? What results are you looking to get? How much income are you looking to earn?

There's a BIG difference between someone who can help you make your first few sales, 6 figures, and someone who can help you run a 7-8 figure biz.

So you need to figure out what you're looking to do.. If your goal is simply to get started and start making a full time income online.. Then you probably don't need to spend alot of money on a high priced coaching program..

But if you're already successful and making good money.. then you may seriously want to consider spending more money on someone who can help you get to the next level.

3.) Once you've got a topic / traffic source that you're interested in learning and a tangible goal.. The next step is to find out who the REAL leaders in that space are.

Who has reached that goal for himself?
Who has a proven track record of helping many people reach that goal?

Who are the guys/gals that are out there getting REAL results.. and aren't just preaching about marketing.. but are actually doing it?

Once you narrow it down to a few people.. do your due dilligence.
Contact past clients / customers and ask for recommendations.
And it should become very clear at who the real leaders are.

Check out their blog, watch some of their videos, and get any of their cheaper content just to get a feel on their style and if you'd be a good fit.

Figure out who that person is. buy their stuff. Ask them if they do consulting / coaching..
And pay them whatever the heck it costs lol

Mentors are not usually advertising themselves all over the cyberspace. The best mentors are those who are hard to get a hold of.

You can also do a bit of a research online to find many mentors online. And when you are looking for mentors, it is very important that you look at what they have accomplished first and what they have built online so far, in order to take them seriously.

Forums can be a great place to find the right mentors for you. Not every mentor will be for you - there will be mentors you don't really connect with and there will be those who you will love.

    I hope this helps!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers

Well, not knowing where to start isn't necessarily something somebody can help you with. What I would suggest is that you write down a list of all your skills and then think about what you would "enjoy" more and then perhaps start looking at threads related to that and then ask some more specific questions.

This would be better than blindly opening your wallet to whoever comes along.
Lexy had very good advice as well.
