i have a song -- humor dance -- what's the best place onine to sell it

hello there,

I have a professionally recorded song - funny lyrics set to upbeat dance tune.
i've done it as a comedy routine, a cappella in front of audiences, and it gets a lot of laughs and a big reaction.

would like to publish it on-line and see where it goes.

if someone has experience with this... could you please recommend some places.

i signed up with TuneCore but i have not posted anything.

thanks.

I would suggest to use tunecore. Get your song listed and start promoting the daylights out of it.

    Good Luck!~

Go with tunecore. It should work, especially if you say you got great feedback from others.

Do you have a video as well? If you do, then youtube is the best platfrom for promoting it. For the start, you can add your clip in all the prominent social media websites for better exposure.

Make a video clip and then put it on YouTube for some google adsense earnings (hoping it goes viral)

Also put it on Tunecore and put the link in the video description! good luck!

Could you list your song on Amazon MP3 site ? If not, there should be a very similar song based website that will pay you everytime your song is downloaded.

Thanks so much for all your responses!

So Tunecore is the best place for a single song?
i see youtube videos with iTunes listed in the description area.

      i didn't know about amazon mp3.

i will check that out dj pools as well.

my friend has agreed to create a video promo for it.

thanks so much. i do hope it leads somewhere.
if it does, i'll keep you posted.

A quick update for people in similar situations.

i came across this article in my research...a partial list of online music sellers and the comment section is a must read.

I guess, i have to do a lot of research... it's not as cut and dry as I hoped it would be.

Ari's Take: CD Baby, Tunecore, Ditto, Mondotunes or ReverbNation

in the comment section there is mention of BandCamp... which maybe a good start for newbies like myself.

suggestions of new online music sellers welcome.

    thanks again.

Here is the thing to consider.. you can place your song on all of those outlets sure. but HOW does the traffic get to YOUR song? YOU have to get it there. So if I personally was going to select an outlet to place my song, without question it would be iTunes.

Having your song in only 1 place means you are only marketing that one location to buy your song, not 2 different places not 6 different places. iTunes and iTunes only. That is what TuneCore does or you. It gets YOUR song on iTunes, and I will tell you from a marketing point of view, that is where you want it!

when i have the video i will post it...

since yesterday, i've been going through all sorts of information on how to go about publishing my song on-line.

for once, my abilities to procrastinate have served me well.
      glad i didn't just upload...

i didn't know that google has music store too.

      all the best

I would go with amazon. They seem like the best place for that.
