Default Even MORE important than finding a niche...

Let me ask any of you who are currently going through the painful task of researching and finding niche markets for your online business (your own products, affiliate marketing or ad funded business models alike) - the challenge isn't so much finding a niche as knowing how to TARGET that niche is it?

Having gone through this with dozens of info-preneurs, I thought some examples might help many others move beyond the "find a hot niche market" dilemma once and for all...

Example 1: Weight Loss

Yes, weight loss is a niche (albeit rather a large, general niche for sure). The tendancy is to try and refine that into demographic sub-niches - weight loss for women, weight loss for seniors, etc...

But is that really where the opportunity lies?

I'm going to let the cat out of the bag here on a few very successful products and content pieces I've developed over the last 12-months that give some insight into where the opportunities really are...

It has to do with specific areas of your body that people see as unsightly, disgusting or unacceptable - for men, love handles, belly fat and man breasts - for women buttocks, thighs and tummy.

What I'm saying here is that by focusing on a specific desired outcome (get rid of belly fat) suddenly you can tap into huge desire and penetrate the most competitive niche markets.

2. Skin Care -

I've consulted with many info-preneurs that have fallen flat on their face in this niche because they focus on beauty, skin care generally - even trying to break it down to different sexes, races, skin types, etc...mostly that doesn't work.

What does work?

Focusing on specific, visible skin issues that either cause embarassment or pain (or both). Think excema, dry skin, psoriasis, mole, birthmarks, etc...

Once again - going from the general market categorization to very specific desired outcomes backed by highly negative or positive emotions is the key to developing high profit info products.

I can come up with a few more examples if you wish - hopefully that will be enough to help you go beyond niche marketing to really making money online.
