Article marketing - How many before you started seeing results?

Although I've seen people here go all out and write 10 articles a day for a month, more realistic for me is to write 1 a week. At least at the end of the year I should have 50 or more. Better than none.
So, what I was curious about is how many articles did you publish before seeing payment for your product(s)?

Depends on way too many factors to give you an intelligent answer.

For some niches, one article can get you thousands of views a month.

For other niches, you'd need to write several hundred before you saw any
    kind of reasonable return.

That is the reality of article marketing.

I did have an aha moment when i realized why people write ten articles for each niche - the aggregate views and clicks on your link in one niche in many articles is better than one article only getting 1 or 2 views a day. I've only got 4 articles of which I have 3 niches so I guess more articles in those niches are in order. I'll be trying out some other niches to do with weight loss to see how many views a day I can get with that one..

Hi, article marketing, like you allude to, is a numbers game. You also mentioned the weight-loss niche, which is super competitive, and therefore (I imagine) even more dependent on the numbers game than other, less competitive niches. Why not try a less competitive niche with your article marketing? Use your imagination to think about what people buy online, then use the free Google keywords tool to check out competitiveness. Might be a better use of your time. Try it out on a free host like Blogger if you don't want to spend money.

First off, happy pi o clock

Second, I agree with doing keyword research, finding out what people are searching for and targeting popular niches. Multiple submissions per niche is a good idea too.

Its also good to get traffic to your articles as well, just post on Reddit and sites like that, linking to your articles.

As far as it being time consuming, use speech-to-text software. Just talk out loud and when you are done, the software will turn your speech into text. This is great for automating You can then edit your article to correct any mistakes.

          Hope this helps

      Yes I agree with Steven...

      its depend on the niche

if your selected niche is not profitable

you will need to write a lot of article to see the results

but if your niche is really profitable, and your article have good QS

you will see instant results and boost your income immediately...

my tips is link your article to your landing page at squidoo and you will surprise with the results

It all comes down to keyword research. If you target low competition longtail phrases you should start to see results immediately. If you are targeting a broad niche with high competition then you better roll up your sleeves and get to work because it is going to take some work to make any headway.

The last 3 articles I did some keyword research for the title and one of them is on page one in Google. An article I did in February has over 1400 views and consistently gets at least 8 or more views every day but that one was a fluke - I didn't keyword research that one but imagined if I had a problem and then thought how would I search for the answer on Google.
I gotten more click through my URL's with the keyword researched articles in the last 3 days than I did with the other 5 articles that I've had up for months.

uhm...to avoid the phenomenon that you only have some sales a day or two i really would recommend getting a consistent stream of articles in. 10/day is certainly a lot, but it would be good to have like 3/week coming in. (in my opinion).

Also...it is really NOT about quantity of articles. See, i had articles on EZA for two years which got "some clicks". Before this weekend i submitted ONE article which got more clicks in ONE day than the other article(s) got in two years!! Its about keyword research, target something people are looking for...and AFTER the article is submitted it still needs SEO/backlinks for the article URL to keep/achieve the ranking.

You might want to check Angela's backlinks package and backlink the *** out of the articles, repective hire some SEOs/people who can drop links for your article to get rankings.

I wrote 30 articles and they have generated approx 5000 page views and over 500 clicks over the last year in a very competitive market. Not bad but I don't rely soley on article marketing.

ALso write compelling titles so they will read your article and write good content so your article will get picked/distributed. That's how you generate viral traffic.

You could just publish 5 articles and get as much traffic as a person who published 200 articles.

Its all about the keywords and quality.

    Hey Ryan,

It really depends on a) your niche, b) the keywords you are targeting, c) how good is your article and resource box.

I mean there are some people that get some articles to the web and receive a ton of traffic as opposed to some that have to write 100's to get the same amount of traffic. Keyword research is very important to make your article get your some traffic but content is also very important, if you don't provide quality information and content to the person that is reading your article then they won't click your link. Simple as that!

I write about 20 to 30 articles a day but this is what I do. I suggest that you try to improve you article writing skills and try to write some more articles on your niches. You can also get some software to help you, such as Dragon Naturally Speaking (I think that's the correct name ;D)

    Best

Some of my articles didn't make any money at all for a full year, but then gave me three sales in a week. Others start making me money up front. It's pretty sporatic - you never really know what's going to happen unless you manage to hit a home run.

From everything I've personally experienced, its more about quality than quantity.

Lots of crummy articles won't get you much at all. But just like others have mentioned, a great article focused on a popular keyword, that is isn't already flooded with competition, can attract a ton of views.
