I just discovered that if you past the URL of a YouTube video into a post that the video is embedded in the post and the user doesn't have to follow a link to play it. That's so cool.

Cool! This is really fun, all the members discovering stuff and posting it. It's like we've entered an old mansion (only it's new and it's a forum).

Not the same, but still good.

        Maybe I did that wrong:

        Wow it works!

Scott, it would be great if you can tell us if you need to do special alteration to show the video link. This is as the first one dont show the S.wagenheim video, but the second post did.

And the Marketibg Ball link didnt show as well.. in case you wonder.

Cool it will turn into a video fest forum....

Well hopfully it will not. I'm thinking down the road Warriors will start complaining about this since its too simple.

              Its a great feature though.

Good point. In one case, Steven's Video, I didn't get the URL right the first time. It was the search URL for the site. The second time I did get it right.

I haven't tried the Marketing Ball one again. It was from a site I was not familiar with.

The only thing that sucks about it is that it does not display at the correct dimensions so any videos posted will look blurry.

What would be better is if we could define the dimensions of a youtube video.

For example for a youtube video to display without being sqwooshed you need to embed it at 480 x 390 (30 for the controlls).

But to take it a bit further I have a technique that allows me to upload larger dimension video and even though youtube displays it at the default dimensions when I embed it on a site I can display the full dimensions by changing the embed code dimensions.

The only reason this matters is because we could display some really cool visually clear screen capture video hosted on youtube here in the forum and it would not be blurry like it is now.

At any rate... I definitely love the automatic media embed function anyway :-)

mmmm... with all the new improvements and social bookmarketing/web2.0 stuff I can see the warrior forum getting really big, really fast! (it's already huge enough as it is! :p)
