Default Which keyword tool is better for niche research?

I am doing some keyword research for a new niche and I have heard a few experts say that I should look for a niche that has at least 100 daily searches. I found a niche using SEO Book's keyword tool with 128 daily searches on Google. This keyword tool has been mentioned quite often for doing keyword research. I believe it is based on Wordtracker.

I then used Google's Adwords keyword tool and it shows a monthly search volume of 74,000.

How could there be such a vast difference in the amount of searches? 128 daily is 3800 a month. That is far different than 74,000. Can someone explain which method is more accurate and preferred when trying to find a profitable niche? Google Adwords tool or SEOBook tool based on Wordtracker?

Many thanks in advance!!
Tom

I don't use any KW providers other than Google. I use Google's own tools and couple it with Micro Niche Finder. Is the 74,000 count exact, phrase, or broad? Previous month or global average?

These are based on local, not global search counts. I forgot about the broad, phrase and exact match volume. However, 74,000 is the monthly local search count for broad match. The phrase match is 60,000 monthly local search volume and exact match is 18,000. These are based on June's search volume.
All of these numbers are still far higher than the SEOBook or Wordtracker keyword tool. I normally use only the Adwords tool but I thought I'd check out the others and that's when I noticed the huge difference.

#1 position in Google for that volume should expect about 50-60 visitors a day.
