Evaluating offers in Warriors for Hire?

What is a good set of criteria to use to evaluate a Warrior for Hire.
In particular I am looking for a set and forget monthly off page SEO linkbuilding person or outfit.
I try to look at the number of posts they have to see how active they are. I also look at how many times they have been thanked. I read the reviews. I don't know what to do.

I have seen monthly services from $900 (on their website, not WF) to $25. The Warrior with $25 claimed he had a thousand positive reviews. What if I want to go with a new guy because he is offering great services for cheap in order to build a client list?

Can anyone give me some guidance, how do I evaluate these things?

Additional:
What do I do about sales letters that were set up in 2012, it is now 2014. Are they offering old style SEO or have they updated?
I have come across some very long sales letters, does this indicate anything at all? Some of the sales copy is so long I just have to scroll down without reading. Is that much selling the sign of a weak service?

A couple of things. I personally wouldn't spend a dime on SEO services because old style SEO is all but gone. I might pay someone to write intelligent blog posts on blogs that will allow backlinks but that's about it. The rest of my SEO takes care of itself with excellent content.

The other thing is good sales letters are NEVER written with SEO in mind. Never. Those are two different animals. If you don't believe me head over to the Copywriter's forum and ask. They'll blast you straight out of a cannon.

As for long versus short copy, that's a long running debate. There's a simple rule of thumb though. That is, do what works. How do you know what works? Test.

I personally do SEO. I do what many consider to be "Old School" SEO and am rather successful with it. My primary focus is the onsite optimization and overall structure development.

I personally do not offer back linking services but to a very few. In todays world to go out and get backlinks just to get backlinks is stupid at best. Its right up there with Russian Roulette.

That being said, backlinking is by all means something you should be doing, that in itself has not changed, its HOW you do it that has changed. $25 a month is not going to get backlinking done in a manor that is going to help you in a positive manor. You might as well goto fiverr and get backlinking done, because more than likely that is what you would get anyways. ( and NO don't do that )

Backlinking in todays environment is 2 fold there is follow and no follow linking. Follow linking you want to look for someone that has a good solid network of linking sites ( PBN ) You specifically want to find a provider that limits the numbers of clients per site. I personally believe it is important that your linking be done from sites that are relevant to your overall content them as well.

No follow backlinking is something that you can do yourself. Find like minded sites and get involved in the discussion. Don't just go drop a link actually contribute. Develop authority on the subject. In time this DOES pay off.

Signature linking is something you want to watch out for. There are better than indications that Sig linking is going to be something that Google is going to clean up. I personally do not use Sig links at all, and here is why. I have 1300+ posts on this forum alone. that means I would have 1300+ links TO the same URL with the same anchor text coming FROM the same URL. If there was anything that ever looked spammy... that would be it.

What is being suggested if you do sig link, is to use your NAME as the anchor text. Or more specifically the name that is associated to the page that you are linking to. It is obviously not clear as of right now if this method will help you, but it is more than clear based on the things coming from Google if you don't, it will hurt you.

So the question becomes where do you go if you are looking for a reputable back linking service. Based on what i have read over some time here on the forum I would say that there are 3 or 4 people at best I might approach for this type of service. Looking at the Warrior for hire section I honestly am not seeing anything that i would personally use.

One of the off the wall indicators of a service you want to stay away from is "1 URL 5 Keywords" kind of line. That simply is not a solid strategy at all. It is also one that I would suggest Google Penguin will nail some time in the next year at the very least.

Anyways that is my PERSONAL suggestion of what you should look at and think of doing.

      hope that helps!
