Paypal Buyer Vs. Seller Protection for Digital Goods

I just realized, after perusing Paypal's policy..

Digital goods are ineligible for buyer protection.

Also:

Digital goods are ineligible for seller protection.

So, who usually wins a dispute or a credit card company chargeback?

I won a chargeback case in the past ($400!) from an unscrupulous buyer who filed the chargeback for 4 months membership fee, and didn't reply to my emails when I tried to resolve it (so I think they really had bad intent). It was still a stressful experience for me fighting the case (on the phone with Paypal a lot, sending lots of emails with screenshots etc. not knowing what was gonna happen with MY money).

What was your experience, if any, with digital refund or chargeback?

I worry as Christmas is approaching, as last year, that seemed to be the time for "months back" sudden refunds/chargebacks when people are broke.

We struggle with the chargeback issue too and Paypal has been no help. Congrats on your winning one! Eager to hear what others suggest to minimize chargebacks and a related issue prevent fraudulent orders for digital goods.
