How I Get High Conversion Rates on Clickbank Products

Over the years I've done ok promoting Clickbank products. Here's how I get high conversion rates.

1 I steer well clear of any make money products. Mostly scammy rubbish. High refund rates for a lot of them.

2. I always ignore Clickbanks' gravity figure. I hear marketers time and time again say you should only promote a product with a gravity over a certain number. Nonsense advice. Gravity is really only a measure of how many affiliates are promoting a product. Just because a product is popular and a lot of people are promoting a product doesn't mean it has a good conversion rate. Please just ignore that figure completely. Don't even look at it. And never listen to anyone who says you should look for a CB product to promote with a high gravity. Any other marketing advice they spout is likely to be nonsense too.

The only thing I'm concerned about is this: Would I (if I was into a particular subject) benefit from buying this product? Would it really help me? Do I need it?

EXAMPLE: Take the how to start a quilt shop business niche - sales page (start-a-quilt-shop.com). Not the best looking sales page you've probably ever seen - no flashy graphics etc. but do you think someone who typed in say "how do i start a quilting business?" into Google/Yahoo/Bing and arrived at that page would care? They are looking for a specific guide. Do you think it would help them? Of course! Would they buy it? Most certainly. Clickbank gravity is just 0.95 and I can tell you it has a high conversion rate with visitors looking to start a quilt shop.

Long tail question query + product that provides specific answer to that query = high conversion rate.

So how do I get a high conversion rate promoting that product? What would be good long tail keywords to use to generate organic or PPC traffic to send there? I don't use any fancy keyword tools, the Google Keyword Planner is good enough combined with Google Instant which gives long tail searches that can be hard to find on the GKP.

and so on.

That is just one example. There are hundreds of products on Clickbank like this. That one has a lowish commission but there are plenty more out there with higher ones.

Some points are good but I disagree with some...

As you said, gravity doesn't mean the conversion is high but it does show that there is market that is willing to buy. This is important because as marketers we need to be able to scale winning campaigns.

Also, you do not take into consideration sales copy and say stuff like

"They are looking for a specific guide. Do you think it would help them? Of course! Would they buy it? Most certainly. "

This goes with ANYTHING really. Meaning, I CAN promote a weight loss product and apply the very same theory and make even MORE money, right?

On top of that, direct linking with PPC to a CPS offer on a long tail keyword and a very specific niche can only get us so far.

Don't get me wrong. What you say is awesome for newbies to follow and actually get results.

But to make a steady income and be able to crack those 6 figure mark.

I'll stick to list building and promoting products that allows me to scale.

    Just my 2 cent.
