Was attempting to make a purchase through clickbank, when on the product ordering page, I was asked to install something called 'TVU Web Player Component'. This could be spyware, it could be just a computer burp on my end, so I need help verifying this. Merchants, please check your clickbank purchase links, and report any suspicious installs here. Also list the following: -Browser -Antivirus software -Antispyware software The more info, the more I can forward to the appropriate people. Thanks for your help in this one. |

I have heard of that before, I don't think that it is spyware I believe it software that enables you to watch TV on your computer, but it is very odd that it is trying to install on a click bank order page. I would definitely disable the installation, and not let it install on your computer, never install anything that you did not initiate first. |

| ClickBank Order Form New ActiveX Message affected sales... I was getting weirdness this Sunday on my sites and it was also my lowest day of CB sales in a few months. Could be coincidence, but... CB likes to test new stuff on their forms without alerting vendors. |

When I loaded an order form in IE8 the CB page would load but the status bar at the bottom would keep moving as if something was happening in the background, there was also the IE "click" sound as if something was happening. Probably disconcerting to a purchaser. When I posted about CB's red order form (they've since pulled it) I was one of the only ones that could see it. CB split tests the order forms a lot...it's possible it's a glitch or they could be testing again...and breaking stuff. |

Interesting how we have been talking for months about declining clickbank sales...and now this problem pops up.

I did write but haven't heard back on that yet...I don't want to know what it might be...I want to know what it is and why it's there... has anyone heard back from CB if this is something we should be worried about or not?

You just don't screw with a secure order form like that, so I have to conclude it's a hack job. If clickbank is testing stuff like this, I'm definitely moving. That is wrong on too many levels.

Floyd, I've suspected something was wrong about the CB process for years. (Notice the VERY careful wording) This goes back several years when I was selling a product via ppc and I grossed $500 in a couple of weeks. Then my sales dropped to zero while the ppc were still chachinging along. I asked the vender and he said HIS sales were just dandy. No drop. So I had to quit and never got any momentum back. Since then I've heard other rumblings here and there. So what's or who is the culprit? I really don't know. It could be a problem with CB, or you could have a browser hijacker, or the vendor's web site could have been hacked. And these aren't the only possibilities. It would take an expert in web security to sniff out the problem. Anyway, that's my take. God bless, Andy |

Andy, it's possible that your computer had been hijacked and your CB ID replaced! Anything is possible nowadays. My Worpdress site or the whole shared server had a bit of code injected that pulled a gif. I use Kaspersky and plus the Banner Ad blocker which keep most things out. |
