I read lots of forum threads about how to make money quickly or how to generate a large passive income fast.

Always people looking for a quick buck.

And of course there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. For many of us we live in a capitalistic society.
And I'm a great supporter of people who are self made.

The fact is that for many of us making money doesn't happen overnight. If it did then forums like WF probably wouldn't exist.

So if you can make money fast or slow in many ways it doesn't matter because you achieve the same outcomes.

After eight years I've just made my first 100K. The fact is that taking me this long Would be a failure to some but the Way I Look at It That Hard Work and Effort Has Really Paid off and has meant I Can Pay down my Mortgage and Other Debts.

So sometimes rolling up your sleeves and putting in the hours can still have a benefit even if it doesn't make me rich overnight.

Thanks to WF members for all their help and advice over the years to help me make a better life for my family... Albeit slowly but surely.

In the UK we have a phrase for this "Gently Gently Catchy Monkey"

In other words take your time and you'll get what you want.....

    Good thread. To this I would add . . .


    Some business models scale better than others. Some businesses are only going to grow so much, to a certain size, before they max out. If you trade your time for money, you're going to have to deal with the fact that either you have to find a way to leverage yourself, or you must change your business model in order to grow significantly.

    Other businesses, which I prefer, are those that are set up from the beginning to scale efficiently. Your personal time is not so much a limiting factor. Once you have a profitable business model, you ramp it up and grow your income accordingly.

    But regardless of how easily your business scales, most every business will take some time to gain traction. It will be slow in the beginning but as you keep applying pressure to it, the business will begin to produce faster and faster. So be persistent and patient at the same time.

    Internet Marketing is very alluring. Entry barriers are low, but competition is not. I actually thought I'd make a quick buck myself. Well, I've made some very good money now, but that has only came with very hard work and perseverance. There are many other others that are perhaps easier, however, the benefits don't scale as well as IM. Put in the work upfront before you can expect any type of return.

    Like the tortoise and the hare. The tortoise is slow and steady so when he does cross the finish line, his business is far more sound than the hare who skipped all the best bits.

    Profits dont necessarily need to come slow. It's very possible to create a successful online business within your first year.

    The problem I observe the most here at the WF is *NOT* that people want a quick buck... The real problem is that people want to make a buck (quick or not) without having anything worth offering to the market: no decent product, or service, or knowhow, or anything at all worth anybody's 5 minutes of attention.

    They think that by tossing a few affiliate links here and there, or by spamming YouTube with auto-generated videos, or by rebranding a cheap PLR product they will make big money, and that does NOT cut it in this time and age. You must have something worth offering to the market if you want to obtain the market's attention. Otherwise, you'll be just another anonymous fish in a very obscure pond.

    No need to keep chasing the shiny objects... decide on a tried and true niche that makes money, choose a simple business model that's been proven and stick with it. The sticking with it is the hardest for some... it takes good old-fashioned work to create and market your products and services... quitters won't make it. Success is indeed sticking in there and making it work! So congratulations on sticking with it!!
