Press Release Distribution Services?

Does anyone have experience with a Press release distributor who does not charge by the article but a monthly or yearly fee for unlimited articles?

I think that one of these services would be much better for my business than PRweb.

Thanks.

I pay an annual fee of $999 to Emailwire for unlimited press release distribution. It's actually a moneymaker because I charge my clients to distribute their releases on my account. (Which is allowed.)

Before you pay for an annual fee, however, be honest with yourself. Do you truly have the discipline to write and send out press releases regularly? I have met very, very few individuals who have the discipline for this. Most of my colleagues - well-known marketers with reputations - only send out one or two releases a year, if that.

      A year and a half.

I started with them when they were still in Beta and there were a lot of glitches. There still are occasional glitches, but the company owner, Joseph, always straightens them out promptly for me.

Unfortunately, not all free press release sites are worth your time.

I just did a spot check, and of the three randomly chosen press releases from PressExposure.com that I checked, three out of three do not show up in Google News. That is an important indicator of a press release's reach and effectiveness.

Thanks for the feedback. If you're looking for massive exposure, then this may not be the way to go.

I believe showing up in the Google news is quite important. You do not want to sing and song in a place where no one can here you. I did not know of such press release sites. Thanks to everyone for the links.

Seems to me that most of the press release sites are merely revamped versions of Article Directories, looking to build traffic through user generated content and monetize off of Google ads.

Sure, there may be some that try to provide a worthwhile service, but my contacts in "the biz" seem to indicate that there are very, very few press release sites that they would bother looking at. Most of them seem to work with a network of personal contacts and only accept press releases from people they know, trust and like, not some internet website with an auto-submitter.

Free press release sites are sometimes valuable for SEO stuff.

By "stacking" press releases it's relatively easy to build a small
network of pages which will indicate to search engines
your site is about some keyphrase in particular.

If you want human eyeballs on your press releases you
pretty much have to get in front of a booming trend (some
rank well very quickly on Google, and then fall off) or
    pay for expanded distribution.

They are very effective when you get in the groove of
it and define what your objective is. I pay a buck per
submission to free-press-release.com and they generally
rank pretty well. Build a few backlinks to a release that
ranks well for your keyphrase and it may hang around
on page 1 for awhile, lending juice to the website you
    really want traffic for.
