I think that the dog niche is used quite a bit because everyone is familiar with the subject to a certain extent. It's got to be easier to drill down into sub-niches on a topic with common knowledge, (dog walking, training, food, clothing, shelters, bowls and stuff, etc), than trying to explain some obscure add-on piece of electronic equipment (for example) to a market that just can't figure out what the example is about. Some of the G U R U examples I've seen used are gardening, tomato guardening, guitars, piano playing, parrots, pet monkeys. So the dog niche as an example falls into one of the 'big 5' in evergreen niches--stuff that people are always looking for because they have a problem or issue that needs to be resolved. |
