How does traffic helps you to make sales, please explain?!

I'm having a hard time with my website. So far, I've bought some traffic but it was no help. Meaning , I didn't make even one sale. All I see on my google analytics is the number of visitors. Also, I know few other website where you can get a free traffic, where you basically submit your website and people exchange traffic by clicking on each others links, but it is no help. How can I attract a real people who would like to buy my stuff, not just "click"?!
Please, explain me how it works. Even if you buy traffic, what should I ask for, before buying.
Thanks

There are a range of traffic generation methods including blog commenting, article directory submission, guest blogging, forum posting including a signature link, pay per click advertising and solo adverts.

I would suggest spending some time in the Warrior forums researching these particular methods and how they can help you

    How targeted was your traffic?

Not all traffic is equal. Not all traffic is "buyer" traffic.

Did you bother to get targeted traffic?

What were your methods? This is why most people fail. They think just because you have a page or some type of offer and all it takes is "traffic" and you will be a huge success.

People please, lets all come together and agree to stop pushing this "theory" on noobs.

Here, watch this, this IS what you should be doing:

I'll watch your video later. Thanks for that. The thing is that I used few sources. At first, I bought traffic for $5 cheap from fiverr type site. Then I searched online and ordered some traffic from company , it was US targeted traffic on specific niche. However, none of those worked. Also, some people suggest to build the list and do email marketing, well, the first question is that from where your get those emails?! I can't email my friends or randomly pick people from directory.

It doesn't, normally, unless it comprises people who are already interested in whatever your site's about before their visit to your site.

If you have a website discussing cauliflower soup and selling an ebook setting out the world's top ten cauliflower soup recipes, compiled by the world's top ten soup chefs who work in Michelin-starred restaurants, the only traffic you ever need or want comprises specific groups of people like "people who grow a lot of cauliflowers", "people who recently bought soup-making equipment", "people who love soup", "people who love the taste of cauliflowers" and one or two other very specific groups. Buying "general traffic" would be useless to you.

        Remember that traffic is "people".

Ask yourself "which people do I want?" (That will be determined partly by whatever your niche is, and partly by other factors like "Do they speak English?", "Do they have credit-cards?", and so on.) Form an impression of "who your potential customers are". Those people are the only traffic that will help you.

        Then read this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ffic-tips.html

You get them by inviting the visitors to your website to give you their email addresses because they want to hear from you by email. Email marketing is permission-based. It translates into money only if you're the person from whom those visitors want to hear, because they liked your site, and/or because you offered to send them some little PDF-product or free report or whatever in exchange for their email addresses.

Yes; you're right. That wouldn't translate into money (and if they're "randomly picked from a directory" it probably wouldn't even be legal to email them, en masse.)

The answer to everything is not automatically list building. OP did not say what he is selling, so we don't know if email lists are the optimal sales vehicle for it.

Getting traffic in the website is fine but if the user interface and usability is not fine enough to make the visitors surf the website, then there is no point of the traffic. The site speed is also that matters a lot. When ever there is slow speed with the website, definitely there is a loss in user engagement. So overall the website should be built that would engage the user at the best.

Think your website must have solid and high quality content to make the visitors stay on your website longer or if they leave, your content must be able to make them to return again.

It's hard to make a conclusion without knowing more about the traffic you've purchased, but I'm willing to bet you that the traffic you got was worthless.

Assuming your website even had real visitors and not bots, what incentive would they have to buy? If I opened up a store and paid each person a $1 to come inside, many people would take the dollar and leave. You can't just assume that people will buy anything just because you paid them to come visit your store. At this point, you're really only paying for numbers. But you're not in business to boost numbers, you're in business to make money.

The key is to target people that are actually interested in what you have to offer. If you want to pay for them, that's fine - just make sure they're interested. Bing, Adwords, and Facebook are all great PPC platforms that can potentially make you money if you can focus on converting these interested people into buyers.

    1) Are you sharing massive value and quality content?
    2) Are you building a list?
    3) Do you have a sales funnel that converts?

It all comes down to quality content if you are using a blog as a platform, building a list and a relationship with that list through a great sales funnel, and finally drive traffic through SEO, free FB, forum etc... (whatever you choose to master)

I suggest you pick one traffic source and master it before moving on to the next. I do not recommend you start with something like solo ads before you get the hang of traffic and understanding the needs of your audience.

Your whole approach is wrong. Let me give you some advice so your next action will actually get you some results.

First, stop using the word traffic because just don't understand what it actually means.

You bought traffic for $5 on fiverr? That's like saying you paid $5 to get random people on the street to walk into your law firm expecting that they will become customers...

Exchanging traffic is only worth it (Probably not) only if you're capturing leads.

So to answer your question, how do you get traffic to your website and buy stuff...

Well, I want you to actually THINK about this first before asking.

    1. What exactly are you selling?
    2. Are there people out there who are willing to buy what you're selling?

Now, if there is a market out there on the internet who are willing to whip out their credit card to buy your product then that's a good start. If not, then change your business model.

    Moving on...

    3. Where do these prospects hangout on the web? Forums? Websites? Blog? Do they read articles or blogs? Watch videos? ETC ETC ETC

    4. GO FIND THEM!

That's it! Don't just say you need traffic. Or that your traffic doesn't buy!

Use your energy and effort on actually knowing your prospect and go out there and get them to your site.

If this doesn't help, at least I tired

There is a broad science to getting traffic and converting those prospects into paying customers. Your best bet will be to study this process in-depth. This longer-term view of things will bring you much more success in the long run ... than trying to make it happen as fast as possible; the mindset that rushes around is incapable of strategic thinking, and strategic thinking is required to perform marketing effectively.

More visitor means your product watched by more people so it is very easy to say that traffic help to sale.

Traffic itself won't help you to sell, targeted traffic does.

You need to get people to your website who are potentially interested in buying your products.

I think you quickly and easily threw a chunk of stuff on a website, drove traffic and expect to make money.

I suggest you study (not just learn) about these topics:

Niche marketing (to find a profitable niche - or more than one) assuming you want to sell your own products.

Copywriting & website conversion - to know how to transform your visitors into leads/sales.

Start with those regardless if you want to create/sell your own products are simple an affiliate.

When I was an affiliate I learned those 2 things (and SEO to get traffic). Keep it that simple at first.

Like all the others told you already that's not a good way to build a business. Actually I would go back on the drawing board and start all over.

If you wanna build a real business you have to take some crucial steps. Build a blog and put valuable content on there and I mean valuable. When people arrive on your blog they must think wow this guy knows what he is talking about. If you don't have the knowledge search the internet and learn it.

When you have all this in place the start with generating targeted traffic like with FB ads, Video marketing, SEO, Forum marketing and so on. Show people (not clicks or traffic couz there are real people behind it) why they should follow or buy from you.

Next thing is you should start a email list. Main point here is again to provide valuable content. Build trust and a relationship with your customers and really try to help them instead just chasing the money.

After that you should create a salesfunnel. And guess what yes you should again provide value. You can sell of course but I would first give people a reason to like and trust you before you promote something to them.

Hi I know this is straight to the point but your site isn’t getting traffic because your content isn’t important or useful enough. It’s that simple. You’re not raising the bar, helping people, entertaining them, changing lives, and inspiring your readers to take some form of action. If you were, your audience would grow. Can i point out that was a quote i read and i wasnt trying to be rude...

    Hi,

Maybe you're targeting the wrong kind of people that aren't particularly
looking to buy what you have to offer.

    1. Research your market - find out what people are desperately looking
and willing to buy from you.

    2. Does your knowledge/skill set etc match those needs and demands?

Or......can you create a product or service to match those needs?

    3. Create the product and service.

    4. TEST your sales copy, funnel, build a list whilst you're testing your
    numbers.

    5. Low conversions? Suck at writing copy?

    6. HIRE someone to write that copy for you.

    7. Get people to leave reviews of your product or service.

Hand out copies and get them to leave an honest review.

    8. Paste those onto your sales page.

    9. TEST various price points.

    10. TEST various headlines.

Which formula comes out on top?

    What are your numbers?

How much can you afford to spend on traffic?

Until you know you'll never be able to make any real buying traffic
    decisions.

You need to know how much you can afford to spend on traffic before
you can ramp up your spending and build a business that is profitable.

You should have people naturally click on your website because they find it useful than paying a traffic exchange site. It's not worthwhile.

If you were to be among the participant looking for free credit for traffic, you will be clicking on different ads just to inflate your credit count and never buy a thing.

  • Yes, as others have mentioned already, it looks like you haven't targeted your "traffic". This is always a recipe for no sales. What exactly are you selling? You need to build a list of people who are interested in whatever it is you're selling. You can find these people on forums, FB, other peoples lists who are targeting the same people, etc. You need to build an opt-in page so you can target those who are interested in your product to join your list, with a free video or ebook or something they can look at first. Then you start building a relationship with them and then you start sending them your offers.

All I'm going to say here is, stay away from junky traffic exchanges.

      Think about it...

What are the members of those exchanges really interested in?

Your product, service or opt-in list?

Or racking up enough clicks to get someone else to click their link?

For any source of visitors, ask yourself this:

Are the people seeing my link/message/offer both willing and able to purchase my product?

If yes, try the source. If no, skip it and keep moving on to another source.

    1) Write high quality articles, this means, you first need to research online on niche forums and Q&A and see what people ask.
    2) You should setup a "funnel" or something that make your reader desire the product you are promoting.
    3) Give something free based on the desire. You will get subscriber on your list
    4) Promote something that is connected with the product you are giving away for free and the niche you are dealing with. More you are targeted and more you sell.

How about you try buying traffic sending them to a squeeze page with a free report on something related to your site, building a relationship with your subscribers by sending them emails on topics related to your site then asking them to visit your site for more info. I think would help you get more sales.

Traffic converts to sales when you know how to monetize the traffic. If the traffic is of poor quality or untargeted it doesn't matter how good your offer is. Your best bet is building a email list and correctly monetizing it by offering useful tips and recommendations that help your prospects. It's also important to know your niche in and out. You can't sell body building stuff to weight loss prospects. Once you know your niche you can recommend products.

It can be the type of traffic you are getting. Not all traffic is good traffic or maybe it could be your site. How about sending the traffic to a landing page building a relationship with your subscribers then telling them to check out your site or placing your site as your signature in your emails
