How to promote a product AFTER you've hit your list?

I have a product that did exceedingly well when I launched it to my list. Awesome -- but that was the easy part.

Now I want to share it with the world. With limited budget & limited manpower, what would be the next steps *you'd* take to get the word out and drive traffic to the sales page?

guest posting? publicity? video marketing? facebook ads/adwords? blog commenting?

I want to focus on just a couple of things that will provide results. What's your advice for me?

PS: I'm already arranging JVs, so that part's covered.

Thanks!

My vote will go for marketing on social media. you hire some teens for cheap rates at tumblr to promote your product for you on their blog. Design a creative campaign, and then places adds on fb.
you can promote is for free on insta and pin interest.

Create a connection between the people and your product through social media. I am sure if you did well on the list, you'll do great here too!

    Congrats on your success jonb

I was about to say JV's when I saw that, however...

I would recommend you tackle either FB ads, ad words, or even bing ads next.

Do some research, invest some money, and eventually get to the point where you can turn .50 into a dollar

That's when you can really have some success with your product

Achieving a goal will always take some combination of your time, energy, and money. If you are willing and able to spend more money, this usually means being able to spend far less of your personal time and energy.

You mentioned the product launch went well. So in that case, take every penny of profit from launching it to your list and invest it into your business.

Good advice. Where would you spend it in this case?

Giving specific recommendations without more background wouldn't be the most likely way to truly help you. So, I'll focus on the meta-strategy I feel would be appropriate in this response.

To help summarize my otherwise lengthy answer into something brief and impactful, I made a spreadsheet for you that I think will revolutionize how you view your re-investments into your business. I included instructions at the top of it that explain how to use it, and how it works. It's attached below this post.

Once you've followed the instructions on the sheet, it's then a matter of selecting the winner from the top 20% of those that came to the top after sorting the list.

It doesn't give you the entire story, but you'll be surprised at how much it helps. It allows you to quickly see which things are likely to be the most valuable. Also, for any of the options that you consider where you aren't sure how to estimate for some of the columns, you may consider choosing other options in those cases; they likely represent options you aren't yet familiar with ... so perhaps you'd want to start with something you are familiar with and save those other options for later.

It also helps to continually improve your estimates used on this worksheet over time. At first, you're using an educated guess, but later it can be based on actual performance statistics for various investments. Then, you can simply invest more into the ones that yield the greatest output for each dollar you put in. They'll be right at the top of the list to see.

P.S. Also, you can update how the algorithm works as needed to suit your needs as well, of course.

Easily lots of paid advertising. Clearly you have a winner on your hands, so all you need is the targeted traffic. Free marketing methods will work also (of course), but for the rapid results that you seek, you need to start doing lots of paid advertising. My favorites are:

    - Adwords & Bing Ads
    - Advertising on blogs, sites, forums, etc in your niche
    - Joint ventures
    - Affiliate program
    - Test between youtube and facebook advertising. Both can be a bit *funny*

    Good luck tho!

that makes great sense. So here's another question for you (or anyone else...)

Would you use Facebook or Adwords ads to send people directly to the sales page (it's a $147 product) or to a squeeze page with a lead magnet and an autoresponder series?

You may consider testing both, and seeing which one is overall more worthwhile for you. As usual, there is no clear answer and testing is always advisable. As a rule of thumb, though, building up your list is generally going to make you more money in the long-run. The trade-off being that it means there being a delay in receiving the money. So, you may want to start by using that option and then test the others later (even later yet if more important tests are also waiting to be done, of course. It being preferable to use heuristics where appropriate so you can focus your testing on thing that are much more uncertain).

ANSWER: Squeeze page with a lead magnet and an autoresponder series. With enough leads you can get good sales at that price.

I wouldn't worry about the thought of using the squeeze page/autoresponder anyway due to the backend sales you will get. Since they've trusted you enough to purchase a $147 product... if your product is stellar, what's going to hold them back from purchasing more and more similar products... around the $150 range? You're going to break even soon on your advertising relatively quickly.

        You're in good shape man.

Your welcome. I am glad that it worked well for you. If you want to take the process even further, you can add a multiplier to the score for money score. Right now, it adds the two scores for money and time together. This means that given that algorithm, the final score assumes that 1 dollar is equal to about 1 hour of time. This is good enough to get started, but you can take it to the next level once you're ready.

You can multiply the money score by how many dollars you feel each hour of your time is worth. This will have the effect of "weighting" the final score with this in mind.

Then, over time, you'll want to continually increase that weight. So, let's say $20 per hour at first (so multiply the money score by 20 in each row), and then increase it over time. What will happen is investments that are heavily requiring of your personal time will continually be pushed lower and lower on the list over time. (assuming you are sorting the sheet by total score in descending order).

This is desirable, because at first you may need to do a lot of legwork yourself, but as time goes on, you want to push towards things that are about investing your money rather than your time and energy. Doing so simply tends to allow a business to grow much faster ... given you have the prerequisite money to make it happen (which over time you'll have more and more of it if you manage your finances well).

This practice of weighting it and then increasing the weight every month makes that automatically happen over time. The spreadsheet's sorting will simply have a bias towards investing more money before more time.

This also has the psychological benefit of keeping you focused on the desired goal of being an entrepeneur, not simply an "internet marketer." You'll be constantly reminded that your time is valuable, and that that value should be rising over time as your business grows ... as you are focusing on higher and higher value tasks.

Man, so true. I recently heard this advice: "To succeed in your business, you need to be an owner, not an operator."

Somehow, I've managed to do OK for 25 years being an operator. Now that I'm truly making the move to owner, I expect very powerful results.

That's a really great tool you've developed. have you considered having it coded into an online tool? It would be an awesome lead generator (or even revenue generator)
