Something besides ads?

What has been your experience with your sites so far? It seems like everything is catered for a certain type of monetizing, but I was wondering if anyone has thought of a new idea. I feel like people have been so overwhelmed with ads lately, that it just isn't nearly as effective as it was at one time. I get the importance of them, as it allows us to have something for free, but is there really no other way? Has anyone heard of some new, grand way to monetize a site?

Personally, I find it hard to believe that there are people out there who still don't use ad blockers. I turned mine off a little while ago just to see, and dear god, it was horrible. How do people even stand it? Who is voluntarily viewing AND clicking on ads? It just boggles my mind.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

Someone must be doing it or sites wouldn't be run off ads. Personally, I don't use ad blocker, as I'm getting content for free as it is. I feel the least I can do is view the ads the site owners want me to, as they have to make money somehow.

Ad Blocker has a program that allows website owners to get ads through. There are strict rules however to ensure that the ads aren't "annoying."

Lots of people look at and click on ads. Ad blockers generally target people who know and are annoyed by ads. Some people don't mind them and some people even like them.

You can't really monetize via ads unless you have insane traffic.

As for people clicking on ads...when and ad resonates with you, you notice.

It doesn't matter. You still have to draw attention and get people to click through.

The only ads I block are "pop" ads.
