Yes thats right, Google is making an Operating System.

It sounds cool but in the same time I don't think its aimed to bring down Windows or OSX..it seems to be more web targeted and have alot of features for security, fast browsing, apps etc...

I guess we will just have to wait for more details and stuff.

Where will google stop? lol

    I love competition, and this has been expected for a long time. It's a first step.

    However, I must say that Windows 7 is terrific, and I don't much care for Microsoft.

    Google is slowly taking over the internet and i love their business model. Make billions and provide free services. Can you beat that. I am excited to see how the release of google voice is going to affect Skype. I think in a couple years skype wont even be around or mentioned. Google voice offers everything that Skype does but just like everything else with google its all free

      You can already get Chromium (or at least watch videos of it in action) to get an idea of what this OS is going to do.

      Anything like this is a plus to me cause I will probably just put it on my machine for a quick boot to a browser/basic apps.

      They are also putting android on netbooks. Seems google is everywhere these days.

      Edit: Totally unrelated reading the blog I noticed that Gmail is FINALLY out of beta. lol

    A free OS in the likes of Google's way of doing things has a great chance of overthrowing Windows from the throne of OS domination. I just hope they won't show Adwords on our desktops :p
