It depends. There isn't enough information in your question to provide an accurate answer.

If you are talking about the possibility of being penalized by Google, or any other search engine for that matter then you should talk to WarriorForum - Internet Marketing Forums - View Profile: Keith Kogane

I think he is the resident expert on Auto-Blogging.

It's so illegal they will put all your ancestors AND descendants in jail - No, UNDER the jail.

    Just kidding.

"Autoblogging" means running an automated blog. Nothing illegal at all about that.

Now depending on how you get your content, it's very easy to violate everything from simple TOS agreements all the way up to international copyright law.

The tools used to autoblog don't care where the content comes from - that's up to you.

copyright is the main problem. I have been trying to set up an automatic blog and while the automation is not that hard (tho i am having trouble with the twitter posting plugin that doesn't seems to be working) i would love to hear about what you do to be sure the copyright side is ok.

With the associated press and other trying to kill or at least get paid for even linking to their website i am a little fearful of the automation part.

As I look at it, your best bet to avoid copyright issues is to take your content from places that exist to syndicate content. Places like, press release sites, article directories, blogs that explicitly encourage syndication, etc. Just make sure to honor requirements for attribution, return linking, etc.

Thats why i am always amazed when i see people totally off the rocker and wondering how their article appears on other sites? Please, dont post on article directories and whatever public sites and then be all surprised thar your article appears someone else...this just wont make sense.

I am also puzzled about putting the question about "legality" in the room. Look at google.

You know that GOOGLE themselves has a blog search, google news, RSS feeds etc..etc... and they distribute those RSS feeds, and other sites use them. So...there is chance that YOU have a blog and its content appears in Google blog search - someone uses a Google RSS feed...and voila! your content appears on another site.

Oh..and i never gave permission to google and they aslo disnt ask me whether they can just index and redistribute MY site - and make money with ads, things like that from all OUR content <---

Autoblogging is great. Just be very careful. You could do a lot of work and have it wiped out.
          Thanks,

Yep. It should be simple: do you have permission to copy someone else's work, and are you complying with the contractual requirements with whatever place you're getting that content.

I believe it's a capital offense. In Singapore they come and take your family away using black helicopters and before being hung, you are caned 50 times. I would avoid it.

Auto blogging seems the best way to meet the insatible needs for info, especially in niche markets. You become an aggregator, pulling together various pieces into one.
