Selling via Cold Calling/Email?

Hey Warriors,

Here's my question:

-Has anyone here ever sold consulting/coaching/mastermind via cold email or cold calling?What was your experience?What was your closing ratio?

    The "Can-Spam Act" would probably have quite a bit to say about selling by "cold email", Dan. The word "spam" might come into it rather a lot. The provisions of that Act are effectively incorporated into the terms of service of any email-related services you might use, online, too.

    Email marketing (that works) is permission-based.

    Regarding cold-calling by phone, the laws are different in different countries, of course (but nearly every country has them, now). In the US they may even vary between different states - but since neither your post nor your profile specifies a location, it isn't easy for people to advise you about that, I think.

      I'm sure b2b cold calling is fine for if it were not the wheels of commerce would seize up. Calling consumers directly requires that you scrub your list against the do not call list, at least in the US.

        I failed miserably doing cold calling or emailing an offsite business. I had to call dr's and dentists to sell them some child safety kits. Long story short it was a disaster. It's not for everybody that's for sure.

        That actually depends on the circumstances, Rich: for example, it specifically prohibits the sending of unsolicited bulk email to email addresses scraped from the web, regardless of the email's content and the sender's intended purpose.

    Hi,
    Yes, i joined a service for closing sales based on cold calling but i had really no success at all.
    Then I heard from my coach that those kind of services are very hard to get them to convert as they call cold leads.

    You should presell them first and take them from cold leads to warm leads, then you can use calling services.

    That was my experience after using them for 7 months and not seeing any conversion.
