Is it a good idea to post content to various news sites?

Hi

I've got a blog in the finance niche which I try to keep regularly updated with new content.

I've just realised that there are several sites out there that will re-post content that I've produced on my blog, so long as it is relevant to the site.

I'm talking about sites such as GuruFocus.com, Investing.com, Seeking Alpha.

Since I've already written the content would it be a good idea to publish on these sites too as they offer links back to my blog.

Or could it hurt my SEO? Is there any reason why this wouldn't be a good idea?

Thoughts and advice much appreciated.

    Neil Patel from Quicksprout wrote an article about that.

    He got some content published else where and his organic traffic went down.

    Later on he asked them to use the canonical tag so that he gets valued as the author of the piece and not them, I suppose you need some solid connections to accomplish that.

    So I would advice against it, unless the traffic from these sites far outweight the organic traffic from Google, then it's a no brainer obviously.

    Yes, you can post your content to these sites. But, it may hamper your SEO results. Why don't you take the advice from SEO person, he may guide you best.
