Expired Domains?

Hi warriors!
If I buy an expired domain which is 5 years old, after purchase my domain will be 5 years old?
A little explanation warriors!

    if you buy a domain which was registered 5 years ago - its registration date will not change. your purchase will only change the Last update date - you will have to update credentials or even transfer the domain. However, this transfer/update can be done for normal price only during 30 days of grace period. After that, it will take you another $200 of redemption fee to reactivate it.

    If you need this name to be a fresh one - just backorder it with some reliable backordering company and in 30+ 65 or 85 days, when it passes renewal and redemption periods and is deleted - you can register it for nearly $10, instead of buying it for the sum owner stated.

    However, if you do need these 5 years of history (PR and so on) - buy it now, before it passes renewal grace and redemption periods.

    You can still keep the age of a domain IF it is bought a few ways.

    1. Straight buy from the original owner as long as it has not gone into redemption mode.
    2. From an expired auction from Godaddy, namejet or other place.
    3. From a domain market place like Sedo, Afternic etc

    If you are getting a domain that has gone through the complete experation process and is now back in General Availability then the age starts as day one the day you reg it
