Could use some advice

Hi everyone my name is Darren and I have been struggling for years now.The main reason being I have gone from one thing to another to another and on and on.Recently I came across some motivational videos and a couple of ebooks that have really changed my mindset.I know now that I need to be focusing on helping others and providing valuable quality content, rather then selling to people. The advice I am looking is regarding a blog I started for a series of ebooks that have really helped me.The blog is only a few days old and I can't seem to come up with ideas for content around giving a free ebook away other than just posting a quick review and I'm not even sure you could call it a review. You can view my blog here gasmoney.info
Any advice or criticism is very much appreciated
One other thing it took me 30 mins to write this post because I kept starting over. The same thing happens when I try to write a blog post I have a great idea in my head but can never seem to write it down to the point where I am happy with it or it makes sense.
Thanks Darren.

    Hey Darren,

The good news is this: you're taking action.

I always have a lot of respect for folks who not only take action but own up to their failings and seek help to improve their business model. So, in a nutshell: a big thumbs up from yours truly.

    Now onto business...

This is a basic breakdown of what I'd do in your shoes:

Once you've written out a business plan, follow these steps and add your own where you feel it necessary.

    1. Register a domain.
    2. Get yourself some inexpensive virtual hosting.
    3. Grab a free theme or head over to ThemeForest for a premium one.
    4. Create a static front page.
    5. List your reviewed products and services.
    6. Employ videos, infographics, and around 1,000+ words of text per review.
    7. Use screencaptures if the seller allows it.
    8. Use call to actions and big old buttons that lead to the products.
    9. Get yourself a membership to Get Response or aWeber.
    10. Use a popup to capture leads.
    11. Drive targeted traffic from YT, FB, G+, and Twitter for now.
    12. Employ other free traffic generation tactics.
    13. Hurl some money into paid advertising when you can.

One simple route to get you earning sooner than later:

Optimize videos on YT and direct traffic to the relevant review pages.

I could add a lot more, but I think you can fill in the rest.

      Hi Darren

With regards to content ideas, id suggest you take a bit of time researching what your competitors are doing.. Simply search for others selling the same ebook and have a look at what they are writing about.. Im by no means saying re write what they have written but it will give you some inspiration to work from.

You also said you kept writing a post and deleting it and starting again.... This sounds to me like you know what you want to say but are having problems structuring it or even believing in what you are typing.

To help with your blog posts i suggest

      1. Plenty of research and understanding of what your about to write about.
      2. Brain storm your post, get all the things you want to cover down on paper
      3. Put your brain storm in to some kind of structure so you know what order you want to cover things.

If you want to sell something to someone, its vital that you believe and understand what youre trying to sell!...

      Good luck

Do yourself and all your readers a favor and hit the space bar on your keyboard after periods, commas and just about any punctuation.

    Hi Darren,

Good general advice above, but my first thought in reading your post and then your blog is to find a different niche to begin with.

The MMO niche is very saturated and a difficult one particularly for those just starting out. If you try to make a go there, especially without experience, you're going to be disappointed.

You hit the nail on the head with the notion of helping others & providing value.

Stay away from MMO and consider some of the zillion other potential topics you could focus on.

Take it one step at a time. Be methodical and begin by determining or discovering a potential niche that you can occupy. Who do you want to write for? Who are you going to market to? How are you going to contact these people?

Your research should begin online by finding demand in the marketplace for something that you can sell - a product, a book, a service, a community site, whatever it may be.

Until you have identified where there is buying demand, you have no real reason to get a domain, web site, advertising, etc.

I may be wrong, but you seem to lack a clear vision of what you're doing and who you want to market to . . . your audience. Answer that question first before proceeding.
