When Is It Time To Scale A Campaign?

If you're running an ad campaign and marketing to who you think your audience is, when do you know it's time to scale up and increase your daily ad budget to the same audience?

What about scaling to a new audience?

Personally, I would only scale after I was comfortable that I had thoroughly tested all the important variables - headline, copy, price, c to a, etc. Of course, the point is to optimize the offer as much as possible before dropping increasing amounts of money on the campaign.

Scaling to a new audience sometimes will give you significantly different results depending upon how competitive the market may be. If the new audience has been hammered by similar ads, chances are your ad might need to be tweaked a number of times to make it unique and to make it stand out from the clutter. It's always safest to test new audiences for a short time before rolling out the big spend.

I believe in doubling. Set a goal. Invest, double it, invest double.

My favorite point is when $1 turns into $2 (or better, obviously).

Depending on the platform being used, I slowly increase the budget as the days go on
