What Website Name For Selling Life Improvement Info?

Hi All,

I am having a bit of a nightmare coming up with a domain name for my website. I will be selling info (e-book, audio books, dvd's, courses) under the life improvement umbrella. Problem I have is choosing a website name.

Keywords I have thought of to be included (just one of them, not all of them) are:-
Enhance, Improve, Increase, Develop, Enrich, Heighten, Better, Healthier, Well, and superior.

Thing is I want a .com domain but most are taken for the name I wish to use.

Questions are:-

1/ What word is most striking?

2/ Is it advisable to abbreviate words in your webname to get a .com domain? e.g. chenge "enhanceyourlife.com" to "nhanceurlife.com"?

Thanks for your help.

Mark.

Choosing a domain name certainly needs some thoughts. I would not abbreviate as you suggest. Try to find a domain with one word and something else that can be brandable. Exact match domains do not work anymore.

    What about lifestyleenhancer.com or wellnesscollector.com

    I hope this helps!

Maybe there is a page name somewhere in the title of your lead book. I imagine you have some of your product picked out and ready to go. If one book or video could be considered the 'showcase' product, then the title or words within the title may hold the key to your site name.

I'm having a similar conundrum. I wrote a kindle book and am working up some content for a blog. The blog will be a platform to sell more copies of the ebook and more ebooks under the same pen name. I'm torn between just going with the pen name and choosing a title that reflects the content of the existing book. What I should probably do is stop being indecisive and call it something simple like "Pen Name's Blog" As important as it is to have the right name, no name and no site is worse than an only OK named site.

It can be, if the abbreviation's very well known, universally recognized and in widespread usage.

No - that would be nonsense: there's no such word as "nhance", and "ur" instead of "your" will be a huge disadvantage. That would be a real credibility-loser. That would be even worse than using "2" instead of "to" or "4" instead of "for" in a url (people living in their own "marketing dream-worlds" sometimes do these things with no understanding at all of how many potential visitors they're alienating!).

You can also use something like Register Compass to bid on domains that are expired or expiring. Might be a longshot but you may also get a bonus of some established search engine ranking if you buy the site at an auction. You might start thinking in short phrases too.

I just looked on godaddy and www.imokreally.com was available. So maybe a short phrase that could be your tagline or the like that does not necessarily use any overused keyword. Best of Luck!

Who is looking for what you are offering? Where?

    Why?

What do they want? How will they find you?

By giving your thought to the market, their needs and wants, then you can get creative to appeal to them, and today, you can have a phrase, or several words, but, you have to create a name which resonates with your target market.

Self improvement is huge. Maybe your lead item, or what you think could be your best seller will provide you clues.

As an example, here is an "umbrella" site for life improvement, and many of their pages get first page google ranking, as did this one:

Overcome Shyness in 5 Easy Steps

Give it a good look over, maybe get some ideas, eh?
