If you do Video Marketing, how are you finding current YT search results these days?

Your question is very confusing. What do you mean? Do you mean the most popular videos? Do you mean some software? For keywords you can just type them into the search box.

Oh sorry - let me try again...

Search results mean how many people search for a certain phrase (keyword) ... in Google it is called the Keyword Planner. There used to be a keyword tool for just YouTube - but it is no longer active.

Thus, how are folks determining the search results for certain keywords in YouTube?

You have to use Adwords planner tool now for YouTube. You just filter it for video under keyword ideas.

type the keywords you have listed for your video tags you have included with you video on you tube, do a search on google just that easy. Same deal when you log into youtube.

I'm looking for search results -- xyz keyword was searched 500 times in Sept of 2014 on Youtube - for example.

Go to Display planner.
Enter keyword and hit enter.
Click on filters on the left side.
Choose only video.
Click individual targeting ideas.
It will show you cookies/week in one column and impressions/week in the next.

I have to be careful about what I say on this topic, primarily due to one of my products.

Head over to google and search around for a free youtube keyword tool. You should find several.

The best tool I am aware of is www-keywordtool-io Check it out and let me know your thoughts. I use it everyday. But it won't give you a count, rather the keyword associated words.
