Hello everyone. I've been looking at these forums for quite some time, and I'm curious what everyone thinks of Fiverr. I obviously have a Fiverr gig in my sub, but I'm wanting everyone's opinion on it as a medium to get a reputation. I'm hoping to possibly branch out if I can get a jump from Fiverr or possibly even stay if it works out, but I'm just not sure of the efficacy of it.

    Hey there,

I outsource Fiverr models and do well. But to answer your question - my "opinion on it as a medium to get a reputation" - I would say it isn't the best of platforms. It isn't terrible. It works like this: Let's say you're a freelance writer. On the one hand, I can look at your gig and see all of the positive reviews, and say, "Well, the guy must be pretty good." On the other hand, you're writing articles for 5 bucks. You see what I mean? So! It's not perfect, but not utterly terrible either.

I've been using Fiverr for awhile now, mainly for getting blog content at a cheap price.

Honestly, I don't know how people make an actual go of it earning $4 or whatever it is per gig.

I suppose you have to have a way to deliver on a mass scale with something automated, or with cheap outsourcing as part of your team.

To answer your question more directly, I say if you are making consistent, stable money at Fiverr, then keep what you're doing there while you slowly start to branch out.

If you want to get a "reputation" you should be putting your gigs up every where you can including places like SeoClerks and MyCheapJobs so people recognize your brand across many different networks

I think you can build a lot of experience and good communication with clients which can then give you a good reputation.

    It's not bad, Fiverr.

But like everything in IM, you have to know the tricks.

Here are 2 that I'm happy to talk about here:

    1. Easy for You; Hard for Them.

    Example: FB Likes.

Let's say you want 5,000 Facebook likes. Maybe you'd struggle to get them fast. Might take you a week; maybe 2 months. But what if I can get you 5K likes and only spend 60 seconds of work doing so? Pretty good, right? Good for me; good for you.

    Fundamentals:

    1. Gig must be high demand.
    2. It must take you seconds or a few minutes (tops) to satisfy.

    2. The Employer

In some countries, countries with intelligent, honest, and educated people, 1USD is nothing to sniff at. Hire them. But wait - why don't these intelligent, honest, and educated people just use Fiverr themselves? Answer: Some of them do, but maybe they can't get eyeballs on their gigs; in other words, maybe they can't get orders. The trick with using The Employer is to be expert at both those things. You run the puppy on autopilot and take 1USD profit per gig. 20 gigs running 20 hours a day, each of which are getting an unholy amount of traffic, means you have a relatively easy to run semi-passive income stream.

Run with those 2 if you like!

You can develop relationships with customers who will stick with you and follow you. Fiverr has changed a lot since I started was getting 20-40 orders per day first 2 years. Now their search system does not favor good sellers as much.

But look at fiverr as a means to advertise your business and gain sales and hopefully convert them to customers outside of fiverr. Just never ask them to let them do it on their own. Be clever
