Hello! My question is this:

How can I send a message to a 10000 or more emails??? Let's say that I bought a LOT of emails (email list). I don't even have a website or an autoresponder or something... but I want to promote a product. (affiliate)

What's the best solution for me? Please... help me...! I would really appreciate that!

Get an autoresponder? I really think that is about the best way. They are not too expensive and have to be worth investing in if you are serious about marketing.

Be careful with bought emails too, most affiliate products do not allow you to spam, and will remove your right to promote if they think you are doing so.

I use icontact and it can do that. Most people here use Aweber I believe. There are tons of companies out there that do this though, so pick and choose based on features: http://www.warriorforum.com/internet...etter-why.html

I think you will find that most legitimate autoresponders will not allow you to simply load a random list of email addresses - especially not 10,000 of them - they usually like to see the emails coming in from an opt in form. (See Katie's comment re. spam)

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

Everyone has brought up some really good points here.

Just to add, if you have an email list of 10 000 its really only logical that you use an auto responder, for what your paying its nothing to the potential return.

There are a few good programs that can do the trick though they are only really good for a few thousand email addresses and there is still a bit of manual messing around when you use them....

      Mailing List Pro
      Sendmaster

Aweber is great as it tends to get past junk email filters more easily which is an added plus to having an automated emailing system.

Like Artswebster said, its preferable to gain your list from an optin form off your site, auto responder services are more receptive to your very own list. Besides your own list tends to be more targeted to your particular niche and the products your promoting therefore that much more lucrative.

Just the same having a 10 000 list of any sort is a head start.

In all in all I think you have a very strong case to commit to an auto responder service, especially if your site/blog is already seeing good traffic.

It will save you time and will give your readers/potential customers an added degree of confidence in your brand and product also.

If you have a list of 10 000 people, I believe you should be serious about your email marketing and get an autoresponder like Aweber.

Let's be a little more direct here.

I believe, johndeux, that you're asking about how to send mass email to a list of people who haven't asked for it. This is known as spam and it's against the law, at least in the U.S. (If I've misunderstood you, I apologize. Please clarify.)

If I have understood you correctly, then I'll say that the Warrior Forum is not the right place for that question. Marketing techniques and practices discussed here are strictly legitimate and lawful (except in the context of discussing what not to do). That rules out spam.

There are other marketing forums where experts on spam and other shady practices hang out. If you really want to be a spammer, it would be better to raise this kind of question there.

If you are in the US and you "bought" 10,000 email addresses, then emailing them will be in violation of the Federal CAN-SPAM Act.

According to the Federal law you can only send commercial email to someone you have a previous relationship with or someone that has requested your email.

If you are outside the US and send out the emails promoting an affiliate product, then you will be violating the spam policy of almost any reputable affiliate program and they will most likely cancel your account. With a list that large you will not fly under the radar. Plus, you most likely will not get paid for any sales made.

It's not the 90s anymore. Affiliate programs are taking a hard line on unsolicited emails.

There is no way you can use that list.

If you use AWeber you can import the list, but the names must be verified first by email using a controlled message. you would probably lose 99% of a purchased list.

If you use your own software then over 90% will get blocked anyway, because all big email providers and anti-spam systems allow the first half dozen messages from a single IP address and then block the rest as spam.

Moral of the story - do not buy an email list. Build your own.

I suggest you get a refund.

apec01 is right, there is no way Aweber will let you use that list. When importing a list, there is a box that asks how you compiled the list. If you say you bought it then it will get rejected right off the bat. If you give some other answer then they will take a closer look and recognize it as a bought list (You don't think you are the only one that bought that list of names... do you?) and reject it.

As someone that's new to internet marketing, don't tarnish your reputation before you even get out of the gate.

I concur with Steve, Scott and apc01!

Best to chock this one up to a lesson learned... don't buy mailing lists, build them.

It is completely possible, technically speaking, to put your own script on your own server and send these out but as it has already been pointed out, this is SPAM.

Better to lose whatever you paid for the list than to risk getting into legal trouble as a result of sending unsolicited commercial email.

    Best wishes,
    Kevin

I agree. Don't try importing these emails unless they requested information from you specifically. Buying emails is a waste of time. Sooner or later these people will contact your autoresponder user for spamming them and they will take away your importing feature. It is always best to build a list the right way. . . from scratch.

Well, thank you all for your advice. I really am new to internet marketing and don't know exactly what is what.

I think I've learned a lesson about email lists (not to buy them) and autoresponders.

      Thanks again,

      Kristaps
