How about this idea?

I have a question about an idea that I've come up with. I am thinking of creating a "Pastebin" like website, but not 100 % same. It is simple, people enter the home page where all the "posts" created by people are shown in a list (Like Youtube). You don't have to be registered to post (don't worry about the hosting), just click "add Post" and choose a custom thumbnail, title and then type your message and click submit/publish to homepage. People browsing the homepage will then see thumbnails with titles and if it interests they will click the thumbnails which till lead them to the text.
The site is solely for people want promote their ideas, business models, referral links, tips etc . The key is to have high traffic into the home page so that the texts can be viewed. Fast and Easy. I simply want to create a "meeting place" for enthusiastic people that want to promote their business or other ideas and where they can get a lot of traffic. It is a win-win situation, they get their traffic and I get my traffic I need to monetize the website.
The question is now, do you think this would work out when it comes to traffic, do you think I would receive a lot of traffic and build up a community-like and meeting place for all these people?
