Protecting Your Site With Right-Click Disable (Adding an Exception)

A while back I added a right-click disable with thanks to someone from the Warrior forum. It has helped reduce what's leaving my site greatly. Unfortunately the code makes everything right-click disable, even some things I actually want them to copy.

Is there a way to add an exception to the right-click code? For example, all is right-click disabled except the sidebar or a specific page?

Thanks everyone!

No, certainly you can't do it at the same time. When you disable the right click, it will block all the visible page which is browsed by the users.

Thank you, Vishwa. I was hoping I could insert some kind of exception for a specific region or page. Too bad.

I use a plugin "WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click" - there is a premium option which allows you to be selective as to which pages etc are protected etc. ..

Search the plugins through your wp site and view the details to see if it suits your needs.

Actually the right click thing is not really much of a protection, if someone wants what is there they can get it and most of those are bots so they are not going to right click anything.

they just Get your content so you're not really stopping them at all.

If you want to limit the content consumption on your site to only live viewers, then all you have to do is truncate the text and use a pixel image to track who reads and who does nothing at all.

Up to 40 percent of many websites traffic are bots or scrapers.

Graham, thanks. Unfortunately this is for a Xenforo site, which doesn't use plugins.

Tim, I know that js can be turned off but my industry is spirituality, not your usual type to disable js. I use Tynt to see who and what gets copied and taken elsewhere and it's always individuals, not bots. Since I have the right-click disable people are no longer copying individual content. So it works. The only challenge is that I have a few widget codes that I want people to actually copy and paste to their site, except now they can't. :-) I was hoping to add an exception to the code but don't know how to do that.

Not a fan of that platform, but in my experience nothing is impossible I saw the right click add on, did not download it or look at it, but you should be able to mod it

It depends on the code used to disable the right click functionality and how it is implemented. I am sure there will be a modular way to code this is js although I have not ever got involved in right click disabling code but I am very familiar with js as a whole
