Started a directory, how to promote it?

Hi,

i just started a site that allows 100% free listings of either domains & websites for sale but also services abd with a thumbnail next to it..

as i'm not allowed to post a url in this thread, what would be your approach to attract members?

    How are you planning to monetize your site, if the listings are free?

    As for promotion of your site, you will be able to advertise via your signature line on some forums. Since you are offering a free listing, you are likely to get a lot of traffic from site owners.

    Another possibility is to contact other webmaster bloggers and ask them to review your free directory.

    This will provide SEO friendly backlinks for your site ad direct traffic from a targeted audience.

    Since your service is free it opens up a lot more options for you than paid services as you can promote this in relevant groups on social media and relevant forums. However do have a look at each sites guidelines and do not spam anyone. offer this to those who are interested in this and not others.
