Help! -- Affiliate Marketing Problems & Challenges

16 replies
Warriors...

I have an opportunity to interview an international superstar in affiliate marketing and I need the help of anyone who will provide it. I want to ask the most challenging questions that I can about about affiliate marketing -- the top 2 or 3 problems or challenges about affiliate marketing that I should ask him about during my interview. If you were conducting the interview, what would you ask? This interview will be puiblished online for affiliate marketers - new to very experienced.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

All the best,

Jack

    This would be MY number one question.

    Affiliate marketing has some competition, what would you say is the most important thing YOU do to set yourself apart from the competition?

        Two questions from me would be

        1. "What do you know today you wish you knew when you first started?"

        2. "What are some of your favorite books (or ebooks) and could you articulate why you like them?"
        {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[86906].message }}
        • My question would be "In your opinion what is the biggest mistake that new affiliate marketers make and how do you avoid it?"

          Good luck with your interview can't wait to hear it.

            Thanks again. These questions are in the right area. Mistakes and Best Tactics are both good areas to focus in. Can anybody give me their own ideas on biggest mistakes and best tactics so I can make the question very specific instead of open ended?

            A friend of mine told me that Larry King of CNN interview fame always asks questions of his interviewees by making a statement first...

            "It seems like a lot of people are making this big mistake in affiliate marketing... What are your thoughts on that and how to fix it?"

            So.... What big mistakes? What best tactics?

            Thanks for the input so far.

              [QUOTE]

              I personally would say that the best tactic I have discovered is using "bum markekting" in conjunction with "affiliate marketing".
              ===> BUM Marketing

              Has your affiliate marketing expert used this same process within his marketing campaigns and how has it worked for him?

                Hi jcmentor,

                Personally I would structure my interview in this way:
                1. tell us about your background (it would be good you can read up his profile first and use it during the interview.)
                2. what are your successes? share with us an example or two
                3. how did you manage to do that?
                4. what were easy?
                5. what were difficult?
                6. how did you get over your challenges?
                7. for a newbie, how do you suggest he get started?
                8. any other final thought for the listener?
                9. how can the listeners contact you?
                10. what is the url the superstar wants to promote and as the interviewer, it is always good to promote it 3 times (start, middle and end) by you.
                My 2 cents,
                John

    I read recently that people can setup some type of system that steals my affiliate commissions as I make them. I understand that people can remove my code, but is there really a system that has been established that can rob my commissions as they are being made or is this an urban legend type thing?
