Outsourcing People & Tax?

Hey Guys.

I live in the UK and was wanting to outsource work to a few graphic designers, content writers etc through sites like gum tree but I had a few questions if someone (or a few people) wouldn't mind answering them?

1. If I employ someone to work for me, do I need to pay any form of taxes or anything or can I say that applicants are responsible for their own taxes etc?

2. Is there anything I should know in regards to legality and taxes when it comes to outsourcing?

3. This isn't really related to the topic but, could you recommend any job listing sites for outsourcing?

Thank-You very much in advance for any replies!

    Hey, I'm also self employed.

You shouldn't be getting advice from a forum but I'm also from the UK, you should call your local tax office and just ask.

1.) Someone elses taxes has nothing to do with you if your just paying for a service.

2.) Not really, the person who is earning the money must be paying taxes in their own country.

    3) Elance.com, Fiverr.com, Odesk.com

All the money you spend on your business, if it's writing, link building or anything else. Make sure to keep email receipts of all transactions and at the end of the tax year you hand them in.

    Regards
    Larry

P.S The reason I say you shouldn't ask on a forum is mainly because "I" or someone else could be wrong, this/tax is not our profession. Professional advice is what you should be getting.

In the US if you hire out to a contractor you should be giving them a 1099 but when outsourcing something overseas or paying for a service you don't have any additional paperwork.

If you're utilizing a service, even if it is by someone else I can't imagine you would have to pay additional taxes on that.

    1) You are just responsible to pay the salary of your employee. No kind of taxes you need to pay if you are hiring someone online.if you are using any payment receiving and sending source like paypal then it will automatically deduct its fee.

2)Everyone pay his own Tax you don't need to pay any of your employee Tax.

    3) You can Get many Freelancers on Fiverr, Warrior Forum,Freelance,Odesk and Facebook also.

    Hey efil4renots,

There are too many companies providing outsourcing services, as per company policy the rules and regulation also different.

In the India if you hire out to our professional outsourcing service provider, you don't need to pay any taxes.

Secondly; yes if you outsource your work from any job listing sites than they charge some tax; or percentage but its free for you they manage it from service provider's end.

We are also offering these kinds of solutions and our clients don't have to worry about the tax and all.

So outsourcing is not illegal as if now. If you want to outsource OR need any help, feel free to contact anytime.
