Hi all, I own some software, and I'm considering either selling it or possibly giving it away to build up a list. I don't want this to be self promotional, this isn't a lead up to a WSO or anything, just wondering if it could benefit any of you. What it does is switches payment gateways... So say you want to get you use Paypal so YOUR sales go directly to your Paypal account... And you also want to tap into Clickbank, Paydotcom, RAP, and maybe 2CO for the affiliate exposure. You plug in the script, and if a Clickbank affiliate sends a hop, a Clickbank button appears on your order page, so they get the credit. (It also cookies the visitor, so if they return the affiliate still gets the credit.) Same for Paydotcom, RAP, etc. And you can have it set up so that a visitor who clicks a plain, non affiliate link is presented with Paypal, Google Checkout, or whatever payment checkout service you want to use. So it allows you to get paid immediately for your own sales, and tap into the powerful affiliate base of several different networks, all from the same page. Any interest in something like this if I offered it for a low price, or maybe even free? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks! -Scott |

I have a script just like it. Works for all of the above payment processors too. Is this software you developed or just bought? |

If you're talking about affiliates/JV's that want exclusive deals, you can always set them up with something unique. If you're referring to the exclusive rights, I own them, bought them, laid out in a contract and no problems at all from the original vendor. He doesn't sell the software anymore. -Scott |

I'd be interested in learning more about this type of software. Where can I buy it ;-)

Sounds complicated. I would advise you to sell it instead of using it as a list-builder. Most freebie people won't use it anyway. Perhaps what it does is cool but your description makes it seem technical and only suitable for the technical-minded crowd... who may not be buyers. Make stuff regular people want and can use. Too many software developers here are shooting at tiny targets when their talents are so much bigger if they just looked around. I'm not bashing you, just pointing-out that if you've got the ability to make software use it to make stuff that makes the difficult easy - or at least can be presented that way. Cool idea though. |

Hey Loren, Thanks for the comments. I'm definitely NOT a software developer, the technical side of IM is my weakest point. It's a script that's fairly simple to use, no database or anything needed. You basically just follow the instructions and plug in data where it says to in the script, just follow the instructions. Then you simply upload it, and paste part of the code on your sales letter. I'm still up in the air about selling it vs. giving it away... You're definitely right about people getting it for free will most likely not use it. I'm considering offering it for free with a required footer link back to the site, and then people could pay for link removal. It solves a problem, I mean if you have a site using PDC and you're driving traffic as well, there's no sense in paying the extra fee for the PDC service on your own sales. Same with Clickbank or any other network. It also only takes 5-10 minutes to set up and install, so it just kind of makes sense. 5 minutes to save on transaction fees, offer multiple affiliate programs, etc. Quote:
Kirk, I just realized what you're actually asking here... As far as say Clickbank or PDC requiring exclusiveness to their affiliate programs? I'm not 100% sure, I'll definitely check into it, but I honestly don't think there's any issue at all. Quote:
![]() Any other suggestions, from pricing to demand on this would be greatly appreciated... You guys rock! Thanks, -Scott | ||

Scott, If it doesn't violate any TOS, I'd be interested in purchasing a reasonably priced copy ... Hoping my level of reasonably priced meets your idea of reasonably priced. Kirk |

Kirk, My idea of reasonably priced is around $20... Again I'm even thinking possibly just offering it for free. Being totally transparent here, I AM a marketer, and there's not much money in selling $20 copies of software without a back end or a decent cross sell in place. It may be a good way to build a buyers list... Too many projects on the plate right now, but you guys are giving me some great insight and feedback, and I think I'm coming closer to getting a plan together for the software. Thanks, -Scott |
