You should focus on Social Media!

It is a long process but definitely pays off in the long run...

    Good luck

    Vijay,

There are several ways to promote any given website and there are tons of ways to increase web traffic.

Can you please be a bit more specific?

What type of traffic you are interested in; oganic, social or paid?

What promotion strategy you have in place at this moment?

    What are your goals?

    What is your marketing budget?

Do not focus on just one channel for driving traffic to your website. Instead get traffic from a range of sources including social media, blog posting, forum links, article directories and guest post writing.

I second social media, that's a great niche for creating huge fanpages.

That being said, i would also try capture people's email address. You have a good amount of visitors already, so you should be getting a couple of email addresses every day. Then whenever you update your blog you can send out a newsletter and get instant traffic.

Just keep working on those two things and you'll do fine.

Find other popular movie blogs. Become a regular commenter across them. Become a fixture in the community. Ensure that your handle is hyperlinked and reflects your site name, e.g. Vijay@The Movie Hut, or just The Movie Hut.

Create a Twitter account. Use your blog name as the account name, and fill in the URL field in the profile settings. Follow the followers of other movie blogs. Use an app so you can unfollow those who don't follow back. Keep at it, and engage regularly.

Both strategies are redundant if your contributions are poor. If needs be, take a week just to observe top commenters and Twitterers at work. Try your best to replicate what they do.

Start a YouTube channel! Create a fan base on there by constantly uploading new videos reviewing movies or talking about general movie news. In the description of each video link to your movie blog.

Trust me if you do this for a couple of months you'll have a consistent flood of traffic coming onto your website.

    Good luck!

Share it on different social media platforms like Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and represent them visually by making images or gif images so that the viewer is attracted and urges to go to your blog. Social Media is a very powerful platform and it is widely used for marketing and promotion by many businesses.
    All the best!

Try to find niche communities and participate. I am also a big fan of guest posting and paid Facebook ads.

Stand outside of movie theaters with a clipboard (or have someone do it for you) and give each person that goes in or comes out a short survey about movies. Then slip in your movie review url.

Also, definitely take advantage of social media. And not just the traditional outlets like FB, Twitter * G+ - but work to find even niche forums and social networks and movie review communities that can really respect your movie review research, feedback and input.

Definitely become an active member in the hottest and most trafficked movie forums.
These are super targeted people from your niche.
Don't forget to link back to your site and/or squeeze page (is allowable) in your email signature.
Post and comment daily and build your reputation/brand.

Focus on building your email subscriber list so you can send direct traffic back to your website whenever you publish new content.

Start a YouTube channel and target specific keywords related to your content and movies. Use good on-page Search Engine Optimization to rank your videos to the top of the page.

If you stay consistent for 6 months then you will develop a massive following and authority.

YouTube and Facebook would be great places to start. Also there are places where people can get free movie tickets to previews like gofobo.com. You might see if there is a way to advertise your blog on there. Real movie geeks are always lurking around those sites and that is your audience.

    Best of Luck!

If you're looking to get free traffic the best form is from organic traffic sources and social media. There's just so many ways you can drive 10's of thousands of visitors but it's all up to how much time and activities you can initiate. I bet once you keep things in place and know what your competitors are doing too then the sky's the limit and you'll be high flying in no time too.

Step back and take a look at what your competitors are doing, how the leaders of your niche communicate and promote.

Then, copy them. They are best for a reason!!
