You will find out the Background of the blog is fully customised with pictures of Blackfriday which an an Online mall also running affiliate program is doing.
This is beyond the Normal post-reviews and ad blocks many of us already used to see, some experts say this is a good Strategy that won't be ignored, to push traffic, get conversions and make sales as an Affiliate by displaying their offers on the site's background. Even few other marketers keep assuring, such strategy can't be ignored...
Do you agree with this?

Its a noticeable method, but how effective is it really?

When I looked at it, the image was too large, it was partially blocked by the site content, did not display well,

I have seen some others that were well designed and it worked good for different sites, but I think it has a lot to do with the site design and the graphic itself.

That is probably one of the most distracting backgrounds out there. If I was a visitor to your site and that, or something similar, was the background I would leave immediately. too distracting.

Nice job sneaking a link to your site in the warrior forum

I have never heard this and I read a lot of marketing material. Which experts are you talking about?

The background on this site is a bit cluttered and not coordinated with an overall campaign.

If you look at some movie and automotive marketing, they really know how to rebrand a site.

Perez Hilton often sells his whole background as part of the promotion for a movie.

It is good for branding and, if done well, draws attention.

But I seriously doubt it actually pushes traffic (non-clickable, does not promote a URL), gets conversions (it is nowhere near the decision making point and provides no call to action) or make sales (it isn't even clear what it is selling).

As part of a coordinated campaign, styling the background to match the other ads and banners can have a nice effect. But I don't think it directly influences any of the factors you name.
