Lots of Free Time + $400 = Your Suggestions? What should I do?

Hi everybody,

I've been looking around the forum here and I'm more than impressed with all of the information. So first off, thanks everybody. So, I've worked a good amount online, mostly with membership sites, but after reading everything here, I really feel like I haven't tapped into all of the potential income of the internet.

Now onto my current situation. I'm a full time college student, but it's summer time and my seasonal employment just ended. It's too late in the summer to get a new job that I can't keep once school starts again and I have found that I am left with more than an enormous amount of time to do whatever I want. I have $400 ready to go towards whatever investments that I need to make. I'm ready to start something that I can commit to, so I'm not planning on giving it up once school starts again.

I've read a lot of ideas around here. But, I'm wondering if anyone has some advice on my specific situation.

Lots of free time + about $400 layin' around = YOUR SUGGESTIONS??

-Noah

I'll send you some suggestions for $400.

Seriously, though, just read the forums here and don't be too eager to spend your money.

You might want to consider building a website or blog that won't take up too much of your time so that it won't be tough to manage keeping it up to date while you're back at school. A membership site could be too much work in that regard. You might be better off with just a website or blog in a niche you're comfortable with. If you have the inclination, you could also consider writing an eBook in your niche and selling that with an affiliate program. That might be something relatively easy to manage when you're back in school too. If you have the eBook completed and ready to go--perhaps even selling--before school restarts, you'll have less of a workload to maintain the site.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Would one of your suggestions be donating to you by chance??

Seriously though, thanks for your suggestions. I think that running a blog would work well. I've been trying to read up around here on how to run one in a successful way.

Yeah, I'm not too eager to spend money. haha. I just wondered if anyone had any specific suggestions about the best way to spend some money to get money. I'm more than willing to put the work into it all. Writing an e-book is a definite possibility too. Thanks again!

    Hi Noah,

    These are my suggestions:

    1) Give $100 as a gift to your parents, just to make them happy and see them smile. Otherwise, buy your mom a ring or something for $100.

    2) With the other $300. Erm... well... invest it somehow. But I'm not sure how. You don't necessarily have to do it online. You can buy a cooler box, fill it with cokes, and go down the park and sell them during hot days. You could turn your $300 into maybe $500 after 3 or 4 days work.

    $400.00 bucks....hmmmmm
A normal recommendation for a FT college student in this situation would involve.....a bottle of Jack Daniels, a Cheap hotel room & a stripper....but since your mom is lookin on....

Give some thought to Kevin Riley & his Product Creation Workshop.....valuable info that you will never learn in a college classroom....6 week course...just in time for school to start back up...

Probably the best way to invest such amount is going for affiliate programming. a lot of people have already succeeded in this line. Even those that have no particular amount to invest in. In affiliate programming, $400 is already more than enough. Plus, lesser time is required to run this so you still got plenty of time for other important things.
