membership site that can do this...

I want to setup a membership site where we can deliver our ebooks online so that they're readable when logged in.

I like the look of the WP Flipbook format so ideally the books would be done that way. The other features I want are:

Automatic delivery of a login link or password when someone buys an ebook.

Inside the member area the book they purchased will be unlocked but we can have all our ebooks available and the customer can see the titles and a thumbnail and easily purchase any other books and then that book will be unlocked in their member area.

The ability to add any freebies or special offers in the members area.

Also, I would want to know if there's a way to prevent mass sharing of a single username / password. We want people to be able to freely access their member area from any computer or device but not where the same login details get shared and used by a whole bunch of people. I'm sure there's a way to do this?

Any suggestions on a membership platform or WP plugin greatly appreciated :-)

    Hi,

OptimizePress - Create Landing Pages, Sales Pages & Membership Portals — OptimizePress works for me...and I use some of the same features on a WP platform.

      dj,

There is no way to totally safeguard your ebooks from being shared. If it can be read on a computer screen, people can always copy it and give it away.

Take normal precautions and deter most thieves, but don't worry about 100% security, it doesn't exist!

If you want the very best membership site software, it's Membergate.

It is not the cheapest alternative, but it does everything (including giving you a built in shopping cart, built in forum, built in affiliate program, and much more . . . all without having to piece everything together with multiple plugins that may not be compatible with one another.

      The very best to you,

      Steve

Only if you had the ebooks as PDFs, and then password protected the PDF.

If I was you. I would go to a coder and have them custom code this for you!

I am a fan of aMember Pro.

Also not the cheapest alternative, but it is very solid and supported.

And it would allow you to configure the maximum number of IP addresses accessing one account in any given period of time before locking down that account.

For digital downloads, you really don't need a full membership site. You should consider a digital delivery service. Unless you have a lot of content, forums, etc. why go through the hassle of a huge solution when you really just need a delivery mechanism.

Steve is right, but you can make sharing harder and essentially worthless by integrating supporting reference material, such as video and course training that can only be accessed from your membership area. This can be done with subscriptions to services like Vimeo or Wistia. and using a courseware addon feature. Also include plenty of references within the ebook that can only be obtained through your membership area.

Start with wp profit builder from Sean
You only pay once. Optimize press is good too but you need to renew your license each year. So i got ride of it

Thanks. Do you know if it can do some type of incremental delivery where we can selectively enable content depending on what the customer has paid for etc?

I have looked at the website and FAQ but saw very few details about the membership features. Ideally I'd like to see a demo :-)

I'd look into instamember, it's easy to set up and only $47 for a single site license. This allows members to get taken to their download page right after they pay, it's all automatic. Plus you could have a members section that has your other e-books that they could click on and purchase.

As for protecting them...I wouldn't worry that much about that. You're always going to have attrition in this industry. It's just the name of the game unfortunately. You're better off spending your time on setting up the membership site and working on getting traffic to it.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll have a look. I'm not so concerned about piracy I just want to put the ebooks into flipbook, no downloads they'll be readable online when logged-in to the members area.

This isn't about 'marketing' or traffic, we have an existing business, I just want a more elegant way to deliver the ebooks AND have the features of a members area to use as a venue for occasional promotions etc. and as subtle advertising for the other ebooks and anything related.
