How is it worth the trouble for some people to fish for email addresses and phone numbers on CraigsL

I know they have bots doing the work of posting the fake ads. I could write them too if I wanted to. The ads always want you to text a dummy phone or directly email them at some fake gmail address. I see this a lot because I have a bot that searches for very specific cars for me. My question is, how is it worth the trouble at all? What is so valuable about having email/phone lists that you can spam? So what. How is there any money in it besides pennies or a few dollars?

Depending on the niche you're in, it could be worth more than more than just a few dollars.. but in my personal opinion, there's so many easier ways to get actual targeted leads that spamming isn't worth anyone's time.

I've never heard a 6-figure earner tell their story of success and give all their credit to their ability to spam.. haha

Depending on what their intentions are or the niche they are in, there could be tons of ways to promote to the list they acquire. I knew a buddy of mine that scraped over 2 million emails from a classified website and ended up selling a niche product to about 2,000 of those emails.

Is it right to do something like this? No not at all but a lot of people are in the business of scraping and using it for making money. Best thing is to think outside the box if you decide to spam some random email. The more creative you are, they more leads you can get, the more sales you can make.

There are a lot of stupid, desperate people in the world. Spamers prey on them.

    It's a never ending cycle.

Funny, it used to be against the rules to teach spaming techniques on WF.

I guess it's just spam city now.
