What does a great resource box look like?

Most of my ezine articles aren't converting much more that 3%. Some are better than others but overall, not good. They are getting a lot of hits but not conversions. I've decided to change my resource box. I've been looking around and not found much. Should I use sales copy in it or bio? I've found conflicting information. Any advice or links to article that you all like?

Thank you!

Tim

    What kind of niche?

The niche that you are writing in really does play a HUGE part in what your resource box should be...

Writing your resource box depends on how you write the article. You could flow the article out so it doesn't give all the info wants so you would place Click here to read the next part of this article where I show you how to do so and so. It really depends on how you build your article. You could have the world's greatest resource box but if the article fails to keep the reader intrigued or attentive enough to read the whole thing, then they wont read the whole thing. Click here to learn how to properly structure your article body so that when they get to the article's resource box, they actually click over.

For a niche like that, I would probably go with something like this:

Want your investments to make more money? <a href="http://www.elementary-finance.com/featured/dont-time-stock-picks-money-stock-market-time/">click here</a> For free access to a tool that will help you do just that!

I've found that short resource boxes that are to the point get me more clicks on my resource box link.

      Text like this:

Jim Cramer, best selling author and host of CNBC's Mad Money has been helping the part time investor put their stock portfolio in to overdrive by e-mailing money making stock picks to your e-mail box each day.

Really serves no purpose at all in my opinion to entice the readers to click...unless you specifically mentioned Jim Cramer in your article.

Don't use the resource so much as a way to "sell them" - Use it to get them to click something where you can put the hard or soft sell on them when they land.

You have a very lucrative niche. I am not sure why are you not getting any conversion. But you are now trying to use different resource. May I ask, how do you suppose that will help you?

My thought is that if people aren't clicking through, my call to action is wrong or the quality of the article is flawed. The call to action is easier to try first. In my next round of articles, I'll experiment with a different form. Gotta try something because, as you said, it is a lucrative niche.

I am concerned that maybe my first attempt at affiliate marketing should not have been on a $300 product. That shouldn't have any effect on this, though, because the reader doesn't know the price until they get to the product's squeeze page. They aren't even getting close to that.
