I couldn't get DNS to understand what I was saying no matter how long I trained it. So, I got a new headset after seeing great reviews on one at Amazon and now it is nearly perfect! If you are frustrated - try this before giving up - it's exciting to have something actually work the way I hoped it would. Warmly, Donna Leona |

Donna Leona, is DNS 100% accurate after getting your new headsets. I am asking you this question because, I got three expensive headsets and I used inside a quiet closed room, but still it is not perfect. So How long should I keep on changing headsets and training it ?. |

Donna, Don't you think it would have been much more helpful to explain which headset you chose and why? John |

Hello, My dragon Naturally speaking 10 preferred doesn't even work on my pc because it has only 1.16 Ghz and 1 Gig of ram and appaprently that's not enough for dragon. So i can't even use mine until I upgrade. But I will have to buy my own headset. What one did you get from amazon. Mike |

Yes, it is nearly perfect now! Be sure to add a new profile for the new headset - this is important. Then start over with the short training and do the tutorial if you haven't already. Hope that helps, Donna Leona | |

Hi, Plantronics DSP100 works nice for me (99% of the time). My DNS really struggles with the word 'thumb'. You can see and hear it trying really hard to understand me. Sometimes it throws out three words for it - (THUMB you idiot!) My neighbours must wonder what the hell I'm doing as I keep repeating 'thumb' in an increasingly authoritative manner, in order to try and train it. Perhaps I should just add it manually to the word browser |

Sometimes the issues in interpretation can also be caused by your soundcard. Using the same headset microphone and the same version of DNS on two separate computers gives me different results. When I first purchased I installed it on a new laptop (ample power and RAM) but got poor results. After 2 weeks of bad results I then installed the software onto a lower powered desktop and got excellent results immediately. The only meaningful difference was that the desktop computer had a better soundcard ( nothing earth shattering mind you) |

I tried with the normal sound card and I got reasonable accuracy I then got a ubs converter for my microphone and the results were phenomenal and this with a relatively cheap logitech dialog 812 headset The microphone that came with 9.5 preferred didn't work all that well. The other thing I've found is that you have to dictate at least a sentence at a time and then you have a decent chance of Dragon picking the correct word from like sounding ones. Michael |
