How many Amazon products do you need?

As a customer, thousands: I buy an average of 1 book and 1 CD per day.

As a marketer, I don't need so many.

It really depends what sort of site you have, and what sort of marketing methods you're using, NBN.

It will help you to rank for more keywords, but not necessarily to rank appreciably higher for them. But overall, it's going to be a slight help rather than a hindrance, certainly.

Well, again, this depends on your intended traffic sources and marketing methods.

I find search-engine traffic (in all my separate niches, and for my "gifty" sites which do have a lot of products, too, but that's just to inflate my sales-volumes rather than for the commissions on them, which are tiny) is absolutely the worst-converting traffic there is, for Amazon affiliate sales. My search engine visitors stay the shortest time, view the fewest pages, opt-in the least often and buy anything by far the least often. I happen to have some quite good SEO (more by luck than judgment, to be honest, as I put no real effort into it at all), but I still find it of very little value indeed for this purpose.

I was hoping to build up my SEO & hopefully build up my list as I go. Makes sense that the traffic is mostly browsing though. I'm doing some PPC as well & hopefully that will be better

Might be a good niche. Could always branch out to Rosetta Stone products
