Are you creating or thinking about creating an e-book or course? What are your struggles?

Hey guys, I'm looking to see where people are struggling right now with creating their own information product, even if you're just thinking about it or have thought about it. I wanted to create a post about it to help people, but instead of just reflecting on my past struggles and talking about how I dealt with them, I'd love to hear some of yours.

Are you in the middle of creating a product or are you just thinking about it? What would you like more help with?

What would you like to learn more about: Product creation and finding a niche or Product launch, marketing and sales?

What are some things you'd love to have clarification on or someone walk you through or help you improve? What are some questions you'd love to have answered?

Looking forward to seeing some of your responses. I definitely know what I wish I knew, but it'd be cool to see where you guys are at.

I would think most people would struggle from actually selling the product, traffic, ect. One thing to create it, another to get people to buy it. That is the question I see most from my customers.

    Just my thoughts

My biggest struggle is pricing it. I have created a couple of ebooks to date. The first one I overpriced and I put in a lot of work. I felt it was worth more than people were willing to pay. I have since learned it's not what you think it's worth but what will convert the best.

Finding the question(s) people want to be answered.
The rest seems just like writing a longer article....

I'm doing is in the future (as a free report) and in my niche, I find it fairly complicated.

That's what I'm trying to figure out! What are most internet marketers struggling with more: the creation or the selling?

I disagree! What was your book priced at? I feel like I have been devaluing my products from pricing them so low. I found that the higher the price, the better kind of customer it attracts and generally, people who pay more feel more invested in you and your product, thus, they're easier to help. If you're confident in the value you are sharing, price it higher than the competition.

Do what I'm doing, ask on forums like this!
If you have a list, survey them.

That was what I was saying, most people I hear from the biggest thing is actually selling their products.

Same for myself, creating it not a problem, but getting ton's of sales can be a challenge.

As for pricing, obviously sales copy can be a big factor too. It's not just the price. If the product is worthy or even more worthy, than it comes down to the copy. No? Of course there are some variables, but it's not just the dollar amount that make or break the sale.

I think a big problem which occurs in creating products especially ebooks is writers block or how to put all the information they have together in a clear presentable format where your readers can understand.

What about screencasting or recording videos into a course instead of writing a book? Have you guys considered this as well?

Overall ROI. I've tested my best selling OTO at lower prices and made fewer sales then the "normal" price. I sell at the price that brings the highest bottom line.

making the product takes a set of skills, promoting the product [and making lots of sales] takes a different set of skills and most likely the result of leveraging a list, networking contacts, and other different targeted traffic sources.

grow your list. network. launch more products. don't get hung up on one, set up the system and let it work. increase your exposure on forums and social media and focus on traffic, both affiliate and prospect traffic.
