Like many of you I hang on about every word Dan Kennedy has to say about marketing. Probably my favorite quote of his is, "Good is good enough." It took me a long time to learn that lesson. What it means is always placing action and IMPLEMENTATION above "perfection" as to what is most important. What if you have a "great idea" and begin putting it together while agonizing over every little detail to make it perfect in your mind...and then find out the idea was a flop? You just wasted a pile of time. Instead, spend half the time putting the idea together so it is just "good enough." If it gets traction, THEN go back and tweak it and make it even better. If it nose dives, then you did the best to cut your losses. "Good is good enough" and "fail fast" go hand in hand. |

Yes the reason most people fail is that they simply don't take enough serious action. And for many that's because they're always dreaming up a new idea, chasing a new plan or trying to perfect a plan instead of just taking action now then following the next logical step after that. I think it's important that you're genuinely committed to making something work though. We wouldn't want people to misinterpret that quote as meaning it's okay to make a half arsed attempt at things. Agreed! In terms of production, be realistic, good is good enough. However, in terms of WHAT you do... it's another story IMO. |

I've been drinking the Dan Kennedy kool-aid for many years now. "Good is Good enough" I have spent thousands with DK, most of his material is put together sloppily. But guess what, it's like reading the original scrolls. The info is priceless. I would buy his info if it was on a Napkin. |

"fail fast" is a good one. Sometimes I refuse to admit that a niche is rubbish and forget it and move on.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

"How Can I Use That?" Sounds simple, but it's a niche marketer's dream... Don't reinvent the wheel...simply take what's already out there...and make it yours. |

On the lighter side, I like Kennedy's quote when a marriage counselor explained to him all things he'd need to do to fix his marriage and make his wife happy. He complained, "But I already have a full time job!" :-) _____ Bruce |

At an event I attended last year DK made a joke about this. He said he always wanted to marry a Rich woman, he finally did. He Re-married his ex and they are still together. This after paying the lawyers Millions. | |

Dan is one of my favorites. He has forgotten more than most people know. Another one of his "You can't make money or you can make excuses. But you can't do both". |

Dan responsible for every dollar I earned! "Good is good enough" is GOLD... very close to more humorous Guy Kawasaki's "Don't worry, be crappy" : ) |

Awesome quote ![]() I heard this from another Internet Marketer long time ago (sorry, forgot who exactly said it): Ready, Fire... Aim! You need to get your stuff out there ASAP... and only then try to make it a little better (basing on conversions, customer feedback etc....) I have heard of some folks creating the "perfect e-book" for a year or even more... incredible, isn't it? |
