Hawaii vacation giveaway

So I'm working with a rapper who wants to promote his new video releasing soon. I suggested we basically do a JV launch to where he gets people involved with promoting his video by offering to pick one person for a vacation for 2 to Hawaii for 5 days.

In theory it's a great idea, but in reality it's not working out so well. What I've done so far is setup an ad on FB.

1. Here is the ad with copy

2. I used this ad image first but they didn't allow because it's more than 20% text. The conversion rate sucks with this one.

3. This is the new one I'm working on but stopped because I feel I'm wasting my time with my angle of approach.

If anyone could provide any guidance on how I should angle and position this offer please let me know and leave your advice here.

Thanks

You should try to make the Ad better looking IMO. To be more specific the blue text and the gold background are not good looking enough.

Thanks.. That's why I switched it up to the 3rd design. I'm just a little lost on the copy in the ad image, don't know what to say really to get more specific and still be in the 20% text rule.

I actually copied the ad layout from a musician who said it was converting well for him...it's not doing a damn thing for me lol.

I feel like this is a great idea but it's all up to the ad copy and image

I think your angle is all wrong. Do people even know who TooFlyy is? (Serious question.) I mean, don't be a fanboy. Seriously answer the question. How many likes does his page have?

No they don't know who he is. I'm trying to build his awareness through this promotion and I'm sure I might be approaching this the wrong way, that's why I'm open to any suggestion.

    OK. That's what I suspected.

Knowing that, putting his photo in the ad, and saying that he is sending someone to Hawaii doesn't cut it. No one knows who he is.

So, what is your goal? To get someone to share the video or to build his awareness? Two totally different objectives that have to be treated in two totally different ways.

Ok, I understand. We want to get people to share the video, I guess we'll pull in as much awareness as we can from the video shares.

And this guy just picks someone? Really? Based on what? And how do the people know that's not already arranged? You might check into the legality of running a contest.

Honestly yes, he just picks someone. I have a connect in travel and it's only gonna cost a few hundred. To enter all people have to do is tweet and facebook his video link on the day of the launch.. I have a tool that will allow me to extract everyone who does so and we'll be able to have an electronic raffle for it. And the raffle will be live on Google Hangouts so people will know it's real

As far as the legalities the only terms and conditions are what we state, 18+, tweet & facebook the link & and the drawing is random broadcasted live on Google Hangouts.

Is the video complete yet? Like is it live on Vevo or whatever?

Anyway, once the video is ready, here is what I would do:

Create a page post ad for clicks to website. Make sure your targeting is right. Create and ad that says something to the sort of "Win A Trip To Hawaii". Click here for your chance to win an an all-inclusive trip for two to Hawaii --> URL

Have a beautiful photo of Hawaii. Not an aerial of a resort. A beautiful sunset. Two people enjoying Hawaii. People won't go for the resort. They want to go because of what they will experience at the resort. Sell the experience.

That's it as far as the ad goes. Now, you'll be sending people to the website. (Clicks to website)...

On the website, you need all of the legal stuff. And, obviously the headline, some copy and the video you want them to share. I'm sure you can find a video player (or already have one) that has a share button. So, they can share the video right from that page. Click ad, Click share.

As for running contests on Facebook, here is their guidelines:

    E. Promotions
    1. If you use Facebook to communicate or administer a promotion (ex: a contest or sweepstakes), you are responsible for the lawful operation of that promotion, including:
    a. The official rules;
    b. Offer terms and eligibility requirements (ex: age and residency restrictions); and
    c. Compliance with applicable rules and regulations governing the promotion and all prizes offered (ex: registration and obtaining necessary regulatory approvals)
    2. Promotions on Facebook must include the following:
    a. A complete release of Facebook by each entrant or participant.
    b. Acknowledgement that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
    3. Promotions may be administered on Pages or within apps on Facebook. Personal Timelines must not be used to administer promotions (ex: “share on your Timeline to enter” or “share on your friend's Timeline to get additional entries” is not permitted).
    4. We will not assist you in the administration of your promotion, and you agree that if you use our service to administer your promotion, you do so at your own risk.
