As an 'expert' blogger, you will be in a good position to assist your potential clients in all areas of web development. You will have the chance to make expert recommendations and show your expertise in a variety of web development areas. Though you might consider focusing your blog's content more on web development techniques rather than generic business topic as this is your specialty.

If you are looking to brand yourself as an expert, it would probably be simpler to choose one of those areas and concentrate on that. Both sound great but even though you can do both, I think you might have more success picking one or the other to start with.

I personally like you blog idea. Once you prove to your viewers that you are an expert in your field, it will be much easier to sell your services.

I wnt across to their site only to find it was poorly presented - which put me off immediately.

Romeo, I can't blame you for being put off by a poor quality blog. Once more, the old adage of "quality over quantity" is proven true.
