Hi,

I am wondering how many products do you
guys promote in your thank you page?

I heard the less the better (for conversion)
but just wondering what the majority of hte
warriors do?

thanks
BJ

ps...by promoting, i am talking about how some marketers
like to put affiliate products, backend products, or other related
products on the THANKYOU page (to get more sales after inital purchase)...

BJ, I subscribe to the theory that a confused mind will make no decision rather than be wrong, so I never offer more than one option on the thank you page.

That doesn't mean I only offer one product, though. Until I get enough responses to determine a winner, I use a bit of software to rotate offers (usually two at a time). When I have a clear winner, I discard the loser and start over. Only this time, the control is shown on a 2:1 ratio with the new offer.

The reason for the 2:1 ratio is to lower the risk from picking a lemon for a test offer.

I don't usually promote any. I understand the value in doing so, but if someone has just bought something from me I'd rather they actually used it than try and sell them other stuff and end up with them buying several products and not getting around to checking them all out.

I used to have several offers and it made more money but reduced repeat custom because some people never even got around to opening them all let alone using them and coming back for more.

I know that may sound weird (I make less money but I still do it), but I'd rather have 100 repeat customers than 300 one-time sales.

A plain thank you page is a wasted opportunity.
If not a product promotion or upsell of yours...then try an affilates or JV partners. If nothing else....use the space to promote something...your blog, the WF....anything....promote mine...lol
The thank you page is prime real state. You already have their attention & their wallet is out....seize the moment.

As far as how many items are promoted? I tend to stay with one...

As with anything else...when in doubt....split test!

With me it depends what page you are on - if its a free download page a minimum of five, but on a normal thanks page from a paid product it will just be the two.

    kind regards
