Marketing Techniques For Website | The Right Path?
First a quick note about myself. I am fairly new here, I have read many post but have not fully participated because I am so green. I started a website about 4 years ago. I was doing some small marketing things on my own and after about 6 months I started making a small income. I work a full time job and assist my wife with her business so I was happy with the small income the site was generating. The site has become my baby. I saved my profits and decided to invest them into a company to market my site for me.
That's when it all went wrong! 4 marketing companies later (and all my profits spent) my traffic is as minimal as it can get. Well a lot has changed since I started in regards to getting my site to rank in the search engines.
I have decided to dedicate as much time as possible for the next year self-marketing my baby. I have started a word press blog where I link to my baby, have a twitter page, google+, pinterest, we heartit, stumble upon, facebook, manteresting, and tumbler page. I also have an onsite blog on my baby. My plan is to make a 100-250 word blog post everyday on my word press blog linking to my baby and other authority sites, make 2 blog post a month to my baby (400-600 words), and participate on my social networks 3-4 times a week making post and trying to gain followers.
So here is my question, I want my baby to grow to a self-supporting adult. Am I on the right path or am I just spinning my wheels? I'm looking for advice on where I am best to spend my time (if in your opinion I am spinning my wheels) I am green and I don't know if my marketing plan is a good technique? or am I sounding very ignorant right now?
