Starting to make some money with my Blog / AdSense - need some direction.

So I run this WordPress blog that I started this last summer (about 4 months ago). I feel like I have a nice niche going in the Automotive world.

My RPM for the last couple of weeks is averaging about $7-8, and I am making about $10/day now average. Some days $15, and a few days $20 in a day.

When I started out, I gave myself a series of goals with no timeline - but the end goal is to be making $2,500 a day (there are several automotive blogs making much more than this).

My main question is this. Should I stick with AdSense? At what point do I start looking at alternative ways to make money?

I'm a Web Designer/Developer, but I don't know very much about all the different advertising/money generating systems. All I really know is a little about AdSense, and I know its easy to plug in and get working.

But I look at some other major sites, like AutoBlog, for example - and it doesn't even look like they run AdSense.

Thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.

Try going at different networks and looking for products related to the automotive field and put them up.

Consider putting an email optin on your site to start building a list. getresponse and aweber are both highly recommended.

AdSense pays too little to make $2,500 a day on a single blog. Not that there aren't exceptions.

An authority blog with good traffic has much better options than AdSense.

Look at the blogs you are competing with and see how they are monetizing:

Are they building a list by asking for email? Join the list and see what emails they send, how they build a relationship and monetize the list.

Do they have banner ads? Look and see what ad network they are using. Or are they self-hosted? Do they have an "advertise with us" page offering rates or contact info? Ask about their rates.

Do they have affiliate links to Amazon, Commission Junction or other affiliate networks? What companies and products are they promoting?

Do they have facebook, YouTube, Twitter? Follow them and see how they engage and where they send traffic to get opt-ins or money.

Think like a web developer! View source on your competition's sites, inspect element o their ads. Now you know exactly how they do it, what sit they use, etc.

Clickbank has some decent gas conversion products, but Amazon could make you quite a bit more than adsense. Commission Junction also has decent automotive products. Hope it helps!

    Hi,

You can apply to CPA network, and promote some offers that is related to your niche.

A good example is car insurance.

    Hope this helps

I would look into Commission Junction and see if there are related products that you can list on your site. This type of advertising is more likely going to help you reach your 2.5k daily goal.

making 2500$ a day with adsense is hard ith a single blog, try adding cpa offers and more content to your blog, make it an authority blog, with affiliate products as well, it may take time but defenitly worth it,
    good luck

Thanks for the reply. Would you still recommend something like that even though I do not have a product to sell? I just have a blog with no physical product.

As I do my research on all of these marketing programs, it looks like many of them revolve around a product sale....I just need lots of quality traffic to my site! lol

      Thanks!

Is there a digital product you can develop and sell? That is always the best.

Until then, I'd leave the AdSense. In my experience, it pays the best next to selling my own product.
