Exercise Demos: Video vs. Pictures With Text

My weight loss product it pretty much done except for the exercise demos. My question is what would you prefer for demonstration of exercise technique. Videos or multiple pictures with text beside it?

The thing is that pictures would be alot easier for me to get and I could get multiple pictures of same exercise and different angles, which would not be possible with video.

Getting the video would be a big deal, and once the video is shot then even if i dont like angle or whatever I would have to use it. Plus it is way more inconvenient for me to set up.

Truth about abs only has pics with description and he does well. Does it really make a difference?

I guess the question is what would you feel about a weight loss product where the exercises are pics instead of videos? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

I do a lot of sport and exercise and I've bought and used a bunch
of information products related to these activities.

For me, nothing beats video tutorials. And I don't find that photo
series help that much unless I already know the movement in
detail already - which means, I've already seen a video on it and
    done it myself.

But my question to you, here, would be - if you can take multiple
photos, why can't you create a video instead?

I think videos really allow you to convey more information in a situation like this. It is much easier to see the movement flow vs. a series of snapshots.

Probably videos are the best way to show the exercises because still shots don't allow you to see the motion that goes on in between the portions of the exercises.

If you are doing this on your own, you are going to need to check out the camera angles to make sure that your viewers can grasp the idea of the entire exercise. If someone else is doing it, that person will probably need to move around while you are exercising or you are going to need to do the exercise a few times while you are filmed from different viewpoints.

For a sales page, I would go with the before/after photos to illustrate real results achieved by customers. And, having at least one short demo video (excerpted from the real product) will be ideal. Both of these sales tools will increase your sales.

I work almost full-time in the fitness industry, teaching group fitness classes. I'm currently teaching 12-14 classes per week and doing some personal training for a couple of clients. Sometimes I will look for new or variant exercises for my classes - especially my strength training classes - and I look online at both still pics and videos.

I like the stills with text better for these things because I can easily refer to them time & again and even print them if needed. For step & dance classes, the videos are handiest.

People in my classes who are serious and committed to their fitness usually prefer good, well done step-by-step still illustrations with text because because they can more easily refer to them as needed.

    Anyway, hope this helps

I guess it makes sense that videos are better...
