Amazon + Christmas = $$$

I know, I know....it's nothing new.

My only point is, if you aren't doing it, or wondering if it's "still working"...here ya go

This is actually the first time I've ever gone after the Christmas season. Ironically, this is the most I've ever made with Amazon in one month.

What am I doing? Video + Amazon.

What should you sell you ask?

Pay attention to the TV commercials, they're all about Christmas gifts right now, they started back in Nov...that's when I jumped on

The biggest hindrance for people reading this post will be: INACTION

Inaction due to the fact you aren't sure if your efforts will generate results.

That's exactly how I felt when I uploaded that video review for leapfrog...

It didn't show up on Google page 1, or high in Youtube...

But I still manage to sell one system, plus 4 games and a controller lol

The barrier for sales is like 2 inches high right now, take advantage!

Thanks for reading

    Great stuff, Lu!

I remember years ago - going back about a decade, probably more - where Christmas earnings would take a massive header in the markets I was working in. No more. I love Christmas (and not just because of the mince pies!). I wouldn't limit yourself to Amazon either. Around October (just before The Walking Dead usually starts to air) I'll begin getting my Christmas campaigns organized: different offers, different traffic platforms.

You're right, last year my CJ.com commissions spiked for a lot of the popular clothing stores, it's just something in the air around this time of the year lol

The holidays are terrific for sales, but only if you make the effort to get yourself set up in time.

Along with Christmas, there are tons of other holidays, celebration days, festivals, big events, etc., depending on your niche.

What I do is keep a calendar of holidays & events, world-wide, so that I can begin positioning my efforts at least 6 months in advance.

With free, fast shipping, many online retailers are able to push the envelope on last minute Christmas sales. That means you can actually earn with affiliate marketing all the way up until the day or two before Christmas. Never too early to start marketing, never too late to get into Christmas related marketing.

True, it's not too late, my content isn't even ranking high in any of the SERPs but it's converting because of the mood people are in, if you just put up some content, especially Youtube videos, you won't need may visitors to see conversions...NO EXCUSES.

To increase sales, you need to look for and offer discount coupon for the Christmas. Most people love it. Not only Amazon, you can try to look for other affiliate programs which allow discount coupon.

If you are trying to rank keywords for the Christmas, you are late because you need many days to see the top ranking at Google. Try to dig other traffic sources. e.g: social media, forums, blogs, classifieds, ppc, etc.

Aaaah man, coupons didn't even cross my mind! I did see an email from Avangate. They are giving publishers coupons for their products.

And the best part about coupon keywords, they're time specific.

So instead of trying to rank for amazon coupon, you could look for: amazon coupon dec 2014, or amazon coupon electronics code december 2014, or amazon coupon electronics code december 2014 free shipping

The competition is so low your Youtube video, if you chose to use one, would rank and begin receiving traffic almost immediately!

Those are real keyword examples by the way

People really get into the 'gotta have it now' spirit of the holidays. And, time sensitive (today only! type coupons) put the pressure on more and keep the potential customer in the buying mood. Just remember that these people are going to spend their money with someone, so it might as well be you.

    Congrats!

Now is the time to push more traffic to it. You may make use of things like " 9 more days to Xmas"

Headlines like that pose a urgency and people tend to buy. Hope this helps

Out of interest...do you have amazon affiliate links in your youtube video description? I have...but i have read that sometimes your videos might get flagged from it.

    Well done on the sales!

You might want to check if that is allow. The last thing you want is that they took away all your hard earn comm.

Yeah, I was a bit worried, but i noticed a lot of big youtubers do it. Apparently if it adds value and its not a spammy video its alright.

My best seller has been LeapFrog too. I thought that it would be the Elsa Snow Glow Doll but I didn't sell even one of those.

    Congrats on your success!

And, people spend way too much money at Christmas, trying to make up for the rest of the year when they are away and neglecting their family. It's just one day of the year. And, family companionship, being near your family is far more important than any gift. Thankfully for retailers and affiliates, most buyers don't know that.

Yep, it works. I made some great money last year using Bing PPC to drive traffic to my review pages which linked to Amazon.

My word of advice however, is be careful you don't make a linking error (or other inadvertent mistake) like I did and get your Associates account banned. Amazon is very unforgiving if you violate their TOS, and will ban your account without warning, with no recourse for getting it back. Believe me, I know from personal experience, and was shocked when it happened to me.

I had my account for 8 years, and made many thousands of dollars in sales, only to get the big ban hammer because I somehow misconfigured a couple of links on a landing page. Oh yeah, and they withheld over $500 in commissions I had already earned as well.

    I'll be honest.

Unless you have traffic from a source that you are getting traffic (maybe from a domain name type in), Amazo not worth it.

They want quality content, added value, and what ever else for a mere 4 percent commission(?)

There are people selling $1,000,000 a year yet net only about $50,000 to $100,000-Not really worth it when you figure all the work that goes into it.
